I took the rear view mirror off my Autotrail because I don't wear lipstick and I didn't need it.
Now hubby says I've reached an age where I need all the help I can get so he wants to re-fit the mirror and he's bought me some Cherry Pink to wear.
However, the mirror is refusing to go back on. It looks like it should clip over an hexagonal nut, but he can't make it stay on.
Any ideas?

Cancel that!
I've decided Cherry Pink lipstick doesn't suit me and I've found a good divorce lawyer.
Seriously, hubby has fathomed it out all by himself and after much swearing and cursing has managed to re-fit the mirror.

In case anyone else needs to know. The mirror is offered to the windscreen fitting at an angle and pushed forward. It is then turned to normal rest position. Its a sort of bayonet type of clip and often requires some force to engage, a little grease helps a lot. Removed in same way.

You are absolutely right. It wasn't blindingly obvious .. well at least, not to my hubby.
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

That’s very helpful, as my new van dosen’t have a rear view mirror fitted, and although i am quite happy just using the external mirrors, am going to get an interior mirrow fitted, and was also wondering how they attached👍

I stuck a self adhesive mirror on the sun visor for my other half.
