More than toes wet now!
Don't ask!:swear2:

Need to source a new drivers door mirror assembly for fitting to our Autotrail Frontier Savannah based on an X250 Ducato.

I'll be following Treeeev :notworthy2:excellently detailed process here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/door-mirror-replacement-on-2016-ducato.175980/ but changing the references to the other side of the van.

It's an electric heated long arm 16W indicator with manual fold but how can I easily tell if it has a temperature sensor in it?

These are the two options it's narrowed down to -
Many thanks in anticipation.🙏

The first one says excluding temp. sensor and the second one says including temp sensor but I would think there may be other differences with such a price variation.
I think that your original mirror should have a pimple (about 5cm) under the plastic base of the mirror , towards the door , which is the sensor. (the opposite side mirror will not have this pimple)

If you look underneath the mirror (when attached to the van) AND if you don’t have mirror protectors on! There is a small hole if you have a temp sensor! 👍😁😎

Guess who's got mirror guards fitted, albeit didn't fully protect the indicator and both glasses fell out! Managed to tape the main glass back in to get us to our destination.

Don't really want to try and get the guard off as it's holding everything together so will maybe take a chance and go for the non-sensor one.🙏

If yours is the One with the Sensor WHY go with the one without?????

I have a vague memory of someone on here saying that you have to have the sensor, something to do with the ECU needing the temp for regeneration.

OK following on from previous response managed to open a small gap at the bottom of the mirror and there appears to be a small black "nipple" protruding from the mirror case. Inside there's a small "box" as in this photos.

I wouldn't hence the reason I asked the question.

I'm now thinking it has a sensor so will need to contact Coastal to see if they've got one. Just placed an order for the one above!

Bl**dy mifi ran out of power when I clicked send so plugged it in and it went without the photos!

Think this is the one.

Will need to order another driver's door for the motorhome as I've now got two mirrors ordered!:whistle2::RollEyes::doh:

You will sell it on here ...especially if anyone has been up the A82 I think it is alongside Loch Lomand 🤣🤣

If you don't have the sensor you will face problems with the DPF not regenerating, it is essential as I found out by experience.

Fingers crossed I've emailed Coastal and asked them to cancel the non-sensor version and I'll call Nick fist thing on Monday just to confirm.

pps gonna make sure you're out on the bike next weekend as I'll have an extra door mirror onboard ready for immediate replacement!:tounge::tounge::tounge:

ppps at least the weather's good enough to get the chairs out so that's one thing in your favour.

Those road works are awful, thankfully we don’t need to go that way unless going to GP which is across from the old uniroyal and It would be quicker to walk as we’re only 1/2 mile from the roundabout at A75.

The weather is lovely, we’re actually sitting out in the garden just now.

Hope the mirror repair goes well

OK, I was only joking about being out cycling next weekend so cancel the GP! When are they gonna pull that dump down? What an eye sore.

So, back squatting at the aviation museum?

Yip, but maybe have to give up as the rugby will be starting soon.

Thank you.

Expecting delivery Wednesday (maybe Thursday). Fingers crossed the weather holds up but forecast is poorer for next week.

Supposed to be having a meeting regarding its future soon, I think the housing association are interested.

Other way towards town 😂😂

Hopefully you have the tools required, if not give me a shout.

Ta. Think I've got everything I need with me, plastic panel tools, torx driver and bits and posidriver. Oh, and plenty of booze to celebrate (or dull the pain if it all goes wrong!). (y)

Just one thing tho note which I learned from my mirror replacement.
It's necessary to remove the interior trim around the fixed 'quarterlight' in the door.
From memory this has 4 clips.
2 clips pop out by moving the trim across the vehicle towards the centre of the cab.
The other 2 you move the trim , I think , backwards so the front tongues then come out of their sockets and the trim comes free.
Just have a careful look in case I've got it wrong.
You also have to access fixings by removing the corner finishers on the armrest mouldings.
These are similar in that you start with one edge because the other does not release in the direction you assume.
Ask me how I know I know.

OK gang. Update.

Many thanks for the input on which version I needed.

Ordered one with temperature sensor on Sunday from Coastal and it arrived yesterday (a day after originally planned - UPS Carlisle forgot to put it on the van!).

Following Treeeev process mentioned above and additional info from Riverbankannie thread on fitting Proplates - mirror delivered at 13:30 and first pint of Harbour Gold was being swallied at 17:00 :drink:and that was with everything cleared up and a shower!

The only issue encountered was three plugs to reconnect, 8 wire/pin mirror controls, 2 wire (8 pin socket) for temperature sensor and 2 pin speaker cable, so what is the other 8 pin socket on the vehicle loom for? After much head scratching and checking everything was working OK reckon it's surplus to requirements in our vehicle.🙏

Just got to sort out the zebra colour scheme now with one black one, one white one and one with a .... oooops that's the song not the colour scheme!

Thanks again gang!:notworthy2::notworthy2::notworthy2:
