Does anyone have one? I am interested to know how comfortable the bed is for two. The size of the bed is great but is it sturdy? We like the look of the Symbol and it seems to have everything we need though maybe a bit short of storage space but reckon we could manage. Our previous motorhome had a fixed bed but we like the idea of a van for ease of getting around. Also, tbh there are so few fixed bed vans around atm in our price range that we are having to re-think.

Boxer-based ‘van, or older style…..?

The Autosleeper Duetto is the same layout and we found enough storage room for two us in ours. We had a mattress topper to take up the joints in the bed cushions and found the bed very comfortable.
Most of our bulky items went in the over cab locker. The smaller items went in the baskets under the side bench. We had boxes in the wardrobe for clothes that couldn’t be hung up.

Andy, it would be a boxer based van.

We haven’t had Symbol so can’t comment on that particular bed…. :(
However, we have had a couple of ‘vans that had beds made from the side seats pulled together (AS Clubman & Majestic 120), and the only thing you need to look out for is the cushion ‘joins’ when the bed is made-up - as bigwood suggests, a mattress topper really helps. I don’t think you need to worry about the bed’s sturdiness unless you’re planning trampoline competitions on it……! ;)

We've got a year 2000 Symbol. Once made up, the bed is reasonably sturdy and comfortable. Just need to be a bit careful crawling into position, but once there, it's fine. We just use a sleeping bag. I'm about 5ft 11in and I wouldn't want to be much taller sleeping across on the double bed. It takes one night to get the hang of it, then I sleep well. The first night I seem to levitate towards the other side and my legs are touching to sliding door all the time!
We have 2 dogs, so a bed-making time I'm at the back with the dogs while my wife fixes up the bed. It takes a bit of planning but once we all know what we're doing it's fine!
