Lots now
I was just discussing about how I had loads of time traversing France to get to Dusseldorf but I was feeling old because of the length of driving times, so yesterday with loads of time on our hands we spent an extra day in france.
Today we heard a bang and yes a dreaded blowout I was doing 62mph at the time but as it was a rear wheel it was easy to steer of the motorway and within 1 mile there was a euromaster tyre depot (lucky in know).
No tyre available 😨
However after the nice manger phoned around he has sourced us 1 an hour away. His employee is on his way to pick it up.
Back on the road in 3 hours he thinks.

Sorry to hear about the blowout and great news about getting it sorted 👍🏻

Sounds like you got luck all round there.

I had a blowout on a M/Way near Leipzig but had just entered a single Lane 1 restriction for road works with a 50kph speed limit and like yours was a rear tyre, so with the speed limit it was easily controllable.

Unfortunately there was no proper hard shoulder but just a gravel area on a steep camber, so there was no way I was going to risk changing the wheel using a Fiat scissors jack. When the ADAC man arrived he had to use two jacks to get the spare on. There was also no crash barrier and the embankment was too steep to climb, so we just had to wait beyond the MH with lorries passing a few feet away, but because of that ADAC gave us priority.

I was bloody glad that we carry a spare wheel. We were on our way about 1 1/2 hours after the blowout.

You are not having the best of trips but nice to hear you got it sorted.
It's all good, used to life throwing me curve balls.
You just get on with it, mind people do say I'm a lucky person as I've never walked out of a casino without been up.

Glad your both safe and getting sorted . I hope there was no damage to your van. Enjoy your trip

Now, if you had an outrider...........................
