I have some snow chains but they are a pain in the a**** to put on especially when it is freezing cold. So here’s my question...

Is there a route to Salzburg in the winter which would avoid having ever to put them on? Not driven to Austria for many years and last time was in the summer

I used to live in Munich and drove most winter weekends thru Rosenheim on the E52/E60 to go skiing in winklemoos alm without snow chains. The Germans are good at keeping the traffic moving.

Will check out that route
