We're considering an extended trip to Athens. Has anyone done this? Are there any no go areas or things to worry about en route?

Might be worth a word with Tam Northernraider as he's done a fair amount of time in Greece.

We have stayed at Athens Camping and spent time in the city and never felt threatened. We toured Greece and had a great time, people are so friendly and helpful.

Ditto. Athens was probably our least favourite place (crowded, but necessary! ) So many different parts to visit. Had an amazing time there and the people were so friendly. And the journey there was almost as good. And really great wild camping.
