I have just had an a BIG fall out with the supplier of our MH.

The story is that my Truma heater had a malfunction . Contacted them about ten days ago and was told they had ALL the parts were in stock!!!! I had previously told them what the error code was and after talking with Truma and I was able to tell them what was needed replacing .

So made an appointment for last Thursday. Got up early so as to get the MH there by 8.30am. Off I go for a coffee and walk around the local town, after about two hours
Had a call from them to say sorry but we have to order the parts and could not do it on that day. “Who told me they had all the bits in stock”! O I for got to take the persons name!!

So after about hour discussion!!! They said they could get part , but it would take about a day to fix, so I would have to leave it two days as they could not spare an engineer for one day as they had other customers so the engineer would spend part of the day on mine the other part of the day on another customer!

I have now had my rant , PLEASE make sure when phoning these large companies THAT YOU GET THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU SPEAKING TO.

Always do that now, plus date and time of conversation. Came in very handy once when I was booking travel insurance. The company concerned denied I had declared a medical condition, so I insisted they listen to their record of the conversation. The manager rang me back and apologised, it was all there on tape.

And the person who,s name you got would get a don’t do that again and you would still be without your motorhome. It’s called bad service, no need for it. Hope your sorted soon.

There's a useful mobile app that will record every call made or received by your mobile. It saves as many calls as you allow it to then as space fills the oldest is deleted to make room for the new. It is very useful for circumstances such as these.

most mobile 'phones have a voice recorder. l couldn't get on with the auto record app.

Some years ago a friend of ours worked in the “Customer Service” department of a medium sized company. On his desk he had an octagonal spinner with eight different men’s names on it.

At the beginning of a call he would give it a spin and, if asked for his name, simply give the one that had been shown. Any dissatisfied customer ringing back could be told that “Norman/George/James/Rupert and left the Company in the meantime or was on holiday.
