We are told that hot winds from the Sahara are making parts of Europe like a fan oven. What is the word from the man/motorhome on the street, is it unbearably hot or just normal for the time of the year.....tell us how it is.....

Sounds ideal Allanm, they are I think expecting >40C today further south.....I guess we are lucky living in Brittany as it seems we will miss the highest temperatures.
So far, we have had a few days of at least 28 degrees up to Wednesday, 32 degrees yesterday and forecast is for around the same today.
Currently 25 degrees outside at 0800
Luckily, our house has very efficient gas filled double glazed windows ( supposed to reduce heat from passing through, either way) and shutters on all windows. Keeps the house nice and cool.
Very little breeze outside.
Looks like we will be off to the beach later if it gets too hot.
Ouch that is hot.....44 in Gray France yesterday, 35°overnight in the van. Now manageable this morning at 25°
Thanks gus, normal sounds quite hot to me, how do you get on with Spanish summers or are you used to them by now.It is normalish here ,if a bit early. has been compounded by the exceptionally dry winter
Perhaps you should turn the A/C down a bit.....I had to wear my fleece yesterday. I’m at Arromanches in Normandy.
Hit the report button and an option comes up to editSorry meant 38 degrees on Wednesday. Can anyone tell me how to edit? I'm new here..
Well due to different circumstances I haven'y actually been here for one since 2012 . The average July/august tempes here In lorca are around the 36/37º mark. In the 17 years I have been here they appear to have got hotter & the summer has definitely got longer. Thanks gus, normal sounds quite hot to me, how do you get on with Spanish summers or are you used to them by now.
I have lived in warmer climates when I was younger but luckily never worked. I think overall I prefer Blighty with all it's faults and naff weather patterns. Having said that, I am still partial to the odd break in the sun but a couple of weeks and I'm ready to head north again....The other thing is the working day changes in summerfor anyone who works out doors. They will start at near sunrise & work until around 1pm. & that is it. " Jornada intensivo"
