As I have stated many times before I am rubbish when it comes to computers.
I am looking for an App to use as an index card file system. If we find an Aire or campsite that we would like to use again I scribble it down in a note book, then misplace the entry or the book. I would like to be able to list things on my iPad in counties/departments so that I can then look at them on Camper Contact or write my own directions and details. I have looked at the App Store but cannot fathom out what does what.
Any ideas please.

if you use searchforsites there is a place for putting in your favourites

I use Evernote to save notes..links ..photos etc You can set up folders and title each note . I had some pages from magazines so took photo of them and saved them under the Country ...simple honestly and it's free (y)

I would think Excel would suit your purposes.
Free to download and easy to use. It’s mostly straightforward if you want to use it for simple tasks such as maintaining a list. It only gets complicated when you get into formulae etc, which for your purposes I doubt you’ll need. But it’s a useful feature to remember for future projects.
You can use different sheets for different areas or countries etc.

Numbers is the iPad equivalent of excel. I would go for Evernote tho - save straight from a web page, write notes, save photos, maps etc. I use it for all sorts - keeping photos of insurance documents etc. You will use it more and more once you get used to it. Free version means you can’t access offline, but only £37 per year for full offline access.

I use Numbers, which will be on your iPad or is a free download.
It is just a simple spreadsheet with columns for the name of the aire/campsite, country and department/region, GPS co-ords and ,if applicable, the Camper Contact number.
All very simple and easy to set up and add to in the future. Because it's on my iPad I can also access it on my phone and Mac.

I use and app called Pinbox on my iPhone. You can input phots and notes of an aire and it shows as an icon on a map. I have broken mine down into categories per country. i.e. France,Gernamy,Netherlands Icons take you straight to the address GPS coordinates etc and you make you own notes with photographs. I find it brilliant.
