I've been travelling around Cornwall today in my car. Passed many motorhomes and I wondered if they are touring.

North coast Cornwall is expected to be hit hard tonight so anyone in Lands End, Ayr St Ives to Bude and beyond, I hope everything is ok for you. PS DON'T leave an awning up as I did once in not so serious prediction. Spent most of the night hammering pegs back into the ground!

Schools in Dorset closed tomorrow , presume it’s the same in other SW counties. Worst winds in 22 years forecast. I expect there will be plenty of muppets on the coast too close to the sea for a look.

I drove up from CAMC at Abbey Wood in London to CAMC Knaresborough on the A1 and it was blowing a hoolie, the crosswind assist on the Mercedes’ was certainly tested! Was meant to be coming up tomorrow but wouldn’t think about driving in 70mph winds. All settled in here, it’s cold and breezy but I’m well away from trees and buildings. Keep safe everybody.

Driving to Dorset tomorrow evening will poke me nose out of harbour and see how strong the winds are!!

Just moved the MoHo out of storage (parked under trees)
Now outside the house (Danger of flying slates instead!)
Yes me too, I’ve got loose slates just on the neighbours side of the roof (roofer booked a while ago but not coming till March) and if they slide off the roof it could damage the van, fingers crossed it doesn’t happen🤞🤞🤞🤞

My daughter and her partner and two grandkids live in a campervan and two touring caravans near gweek. Very worrying. I have told her to take the campervan into the village and find some shelter.

We’ve been cancelled at Keswick for this weekend for flooding, it’s nearly two years to the day we got a knock on the door at 3 in the morning telling us to evacuate as the river had burst its banks, it was pouring through the site at a fair rate😩😳
We’ve just managed to get re booked in before our foreign tour, still minimum 3 nights but peak season is now minimum 5 nights. 😳🤔

For the bad storms up my way a week or so ago I left my usual spot outside work and parked in the underground car park of the exhibition centre. Safe as houses.... or an underground car park.

Anyone down South tonight and tomorrow may well want to do something similar.

I am surprised (on maybe not?) at the number of people on Faceblook asking "do you think we should be driving or camping on Friday?"

How many high wind warnings do people need before they actually take notice?
Hi have travelled in High winds and deep snow. Drove up to Nevis range instead of Aviemore when the A9 was closed.

Driven up towards the Arctic circle in winter, Norway, Switzerland, Austria the French Pyrenees. Never and issue.

Travelled to Folkestone and crossed to Calais when we had the big storm and high tides some years ago (stayed off the motorway).

BUT ! I think anyone who travels tomorrow without urgent reason is a fool. I have for the first time ever, cancelled all but one Emergency job for tomorrow and that may get cancelled.

Just been out to check my awning and it’s okay, 21 degrees today though in Spain. 😀

Where are you then? I'm just northwest of Cadiz and only got 19 today.

We have some very exposed land in Lincolnshire with very tall and very old oak trees on it.....and no one to keep an eye out for us. Yep, I'm worried  Fingers crossed everything will be ok. Take care everyone.

Just spoke to a caravaner who is pitched next to me, he was getting hitched up, decided to leave tonight to drive home hoping to beat the gales. Was a big van, wouldn’t fancy it myself.

We get a direct forecast from the horses mouth at work. Our very experienced and competent weather forecaster said it was the biggest he has seen for a number of years.

I am just in the lakes at the moment and moving to Scotland tomorrow. Home however will cop it in the midlands.

Anyone south of Derby shouldn’t go out tomorrow.

Hope everyone stays safe.

the company I work for has advised against unnecessary travel , if we do, we all home by Friday , but ay least they care

Spoke to my Spanish Friend on Monday this week. He said it had hit 28c that day (bulltwink I thought). Then I checked and despite one app saying it was only 16c the next day, it was 21c. I think it is due to be around 21 tomorrow by all accounts in javea . Thats why I advise people they do not always have to down as far as Costa Tropical., del sol etc.

But I remember February 2016, driving my car down from Santander, 11pm and my Car dash read 28c. I thought, Typical Mercedes, broken. Then when I arrived in javea, it was, 28c at 11pm.
