So got a duvalay back in January, worth every penny BUT as they didnt have my motorhome on file I had to measure etc and send them the specs.
I over measured ever so slightly and it overhangs all the way down the open side of the french bed and it has become annoying.
Anytime we lift the bed it gets pushed up by the wall and doesnt fall back to place properly.

Im wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a solution other than my likely plan which is:

1. cut 1-2 inches off all the way up the side against the wall, this will inevitably leave the zipped sheet loose.
2. using that extra "flap" of zipped sheet, stitch is to the mattress side every 6 or so inches with strong stitching.

Any thoughts?

Excuse the mess.

I wouldn’t stitch it to the mattress. I have used old fashioned nappy safety pins to attach topper etc to our mattress in the past to stop it moving but easily removed to take indoors for winter. Worth a thought 😊

Could you attach some Velcro to the mattress and the duvalay topper to keep it in place ?

We have a mattress topper (Dunelm) that has migratory tendencies

could you not pack side of mattress out with sponge to meet and align with topper.

Now THAT is a cracking idea!!

Ive no idea how that would work without stitching the velcro to both?

I don't get what you are saying? push the mattress out from the wall even further hence encroaching more into the van and potentially blocking the toilet door from opening?

Stitch tape to topper and mattress (in line with each other) and tie together ,perhaps 4 to each side

Or a sheet of that stuff to stop rugs slipping, they sell it in dunelm

I have a mattress topper which has a tendency to ‘creep’ away from the wall. My solution was to put elastic straps on the corners and tuck them under the mattress. Seems to work ok. I too have a French bed and lift up to access the storage space underneath.

You can get stick on Velcro
ah yes, nah, anytime ive ever used stick on velcro it's never lasted long. and the topper covers sort of fluffy too, it would never work.

Im not getting what you mean there by stitch tape, i googled it and only found dressmaker hem tape which irons on?

Ah yes already tried this. Should have said.

I’m probably missing something here, but if it were me I’d try pushing the topper back against the wall. Only a thought.

I did cut our ikea memory foam mattress to fit and then sealed the sides with heavy duty duct tape. I have also taped the topper to the mattress and works a treat - no movement at all. cant see the tape under the bedding so dont know its there and no migration issues.

Yep, you are missing that the toppers too wide for the mattress its on like I mentioned in the first post

I did think about duct tape I have to admit.

ahhh from the photo it looks as though you have enough room to do as i suggested.
Okay then are you able to alter the door opening to opposite way, to swing against the bed..

Im buggered if Im going to start taking doors off and rehanging them making the "corridor" even more narrow.
