I've just renewed my car insurance, listened to all the warnings about giving wrong info as to claims and convictions.

I have multiple policies for campers, car and 2 vans with multiple named drivers and have to declare any claims or convictions for all drivers on those policies.

If a driver has not told me about a conviction or claim will my insurance be valid?

It shouldn't be neccessary to tell any insurance company these details as they always tell you that they all share information anyway.

If they know everthing are they taking your money knowing they will not be paying out in the event of a claim?

Has anyone had a claim rejected or reduced?

An insurance company wouldn’t necessarily know if a named driver has a driving conviction or something pending.

I ask because one of the drivers, my son, had a bump - his fault, in one of the vans a couple of years ago (£3000 of third party damage) he exchanged details. We heard nothing further, no demand for excess, nothing......... until one of my other sons went to get insurance on is own vehicle and was told about the claim - news to us all !

I find it strange the claim has migrated to a different driver.

Unless it’s logged with the wrong initial but surname is correct.
