hymer swing
Hi all
We have a Hymer Swing 2002 and are considering changing our bumpers front and back and possibly bottom side sections to black. Has anyone any pictures of their vans with black bumpers just so i get an idea of what it might look like. Thanks in advance ;)

Presumably they are currently plastic and white so if you sprayed them black every little scratch would look awful.

I had no option but to respray my plastic bumper white (in my drive) on my 1995 Compass as it had previously been sprayed white over the original black and was badly scratched/peeling off.

Most folk change their older vans from black to white to make them more modern looking.

My Swift has plastic all round, it was originally a dark grey. At around 10 years old it started to look a bit tatty, so I used Forever Black on it all and have been quite happy with the look and how long it lasts.

Ours is metallic grey. We have had to repair the back bumper and its difficult to make it look good by spraying metallic grey ourselves and thought black all around might look nicer. We are thinking of putting decorative decals over parts of the van so could tie the black theme in with this :)

Agree with that the slightest mark would show up as white, also the black bumpers would possibly ‘age’ the van.

In the 60s there was a “fad” for painting your car bonnet Matt black, I did it, but it soon got scratched and scabby.
Probably worse on bumpers.
