Just wondering if anybody is travelling or or has recently travelled via Brittany Ferries to Spain. Just a couple of questions .

What test/s did you have to take before leaving the UK. and before entering Spain?

What test/s will you need before returning to the Uk?

Booked on the BF Portsmouth to Santander 11 January. But not holding our breath?

Thinking of doing the same 20th January
Just looking for a code to make it a bit cheaper 😜

We’re booked on Portsmouth/Santander ferry, leaving on 4th January. We’re on tenterhooks and still not sure if we will be allowed to travel yet.

Same ferry as us Greenway.

Plenty of time for Spain (or Portugal in our case) to introduce more obstacles to entry or even introduce a lockdown, which of course they're absolutely entitled to do.

What do you reckon are our chances of getting away? I fear they're less than 50%.

I've a couple of follow up questions to those raised by colyboy.

If we need a negative test result 24 hours before arrival, how does that work with a 36 hours crossing (allowing for early check-in etc )?

Notwithstanding that conundrum, where are people getting their tests and are they confident of receiving the result in good time?

Portsmouth to Santander 4th of January for us. Flexible so going to move it to second half of February when I hope the current round has settled down.

A week or two in the Peak District and environs planned now for end of January / early February will hopefully take the pain away a bit!

Arrived in Spain Saturday, portsmouth to santander ferry 2 night sailing and a 5hour delay docking due to fog, it felt like ground hog day.
No test required to enter Spain only proof of double/ triple jab and plf.

As for returning to UK my crystal ball is not up to the task, will just wait and see.

At the moment, no tests are required to enter Spain. Indeed, they won't accept a test certificate or evidence of recovery from a recent infection. It has to be evidence of full vaccination. You need to complete & submit the SPtH form not more than 2 days from departure. Returning, you need to complete & submit a passenger locator form, again not more than 2 days before departure. You must also take a lateral flow or PRC test within that 2 day window. You need to book a PRC test for day 2 of your arrival. Please note that Sanchez is reviewing tourism rules in the next few days.

Just to clarify, the PRC test on day 2 is upon your arrival HOME.

The tests are always before departure, not before arrival.

Do you have a link to that information as the consensus of opinion elsewhere is that it is 48 hours before arrival.

Ian

Edit: Link to SPtH FAQs added that confirms that it is before ARRIVAL.

Not looking good for new year, so if you can get out now, I would.

We are booked to go late December.

My thoughts are we will either not be allowed out, in or both.

I really am looking forward to nochovieja in Spain with our daughter her fiancé.

I agree. The full article says they don't want to limit travel internally but I reckon they might see banning international arrivals as a precaution. I don't think it would be politically acceptable to ban the Dutch and German s and not us.

Why not ? Spain it the other way around last December!

Just back from a week in the Costa del Sol and there are more Spanish wearing masks than here in the UK, even outside on the promenades where it wasn't mandatory (yet). I see they are closing the beaches in Orihuela on xmas day. I know its not the original question on ferry travel as i flew out and back , The airports were quiet and stress free (considering we flew from Manchester the worst airport in the world) Took a lateral test to come back with me and got results within 30mins and did a PCR test at the airport on arrival at 5pm and got results by 10am next morning.
