With having a poorly dog (RIP Lily) which meant having to cut our last foreign holiday short we're wanting to get away again so we can chill out and recover from all the stress/upset/work etc we've had but unfortunately we haven't got any FT tickets left. :crying:

If anyone has any spares I be most grateful if they would consider letting me buy them (assuming they've not twinned with anyone else already).

Fingers crossed! :giggle:

We travelled back today on the last of our Frequent Travellers tickets. Not only did they want to see our payment card but also my passport. Wanted to see payment card on way out. I wonder if people have been trying to use them but are not the nominated second or account holder.

The payment card check is for the card that payed supplement you pay not the original ft purchase.
That’s how it worked with shares I’ve had.

Yes I realise that. Never been asked for my passport at check in before though

No we have never been asked for passport, maybe something had gone wrong with your API

No they were checking it against the frequent traveller ticket. Asked for it straight after my Bank card. Also checked my name twice. Checked me against my passport. Very strange.

We shared a frequent traveller wallet with another Funster and were the supplementary holder (not the wallet Holder) and first time we used the crossing they had to link the credit card to the booking and asked to see passport to confirm it was the same as the credit card. Once they did not no problems using the additional crossings at a later date.

I'm not fussed :giggle: ... talk dirty if you want (I mean toilets of course!) ... anything that keeps this thread up at the top of the list will do me as I'm more likely to get some tickets ... hopefully! 🤞

I've noticed regular requests for Frequent traveller tickets over the past few months, no idea if anyone has had any success though.

I posted such a request last week, but absolutely no response. I knew I would be unlikely to find a Funster with spare tickets and no account partner but thought it was worth asking. Anyone heard anything as to whether Eurotunnel will start a new FT scheme?

Doesn’t look like it at the moment 😥

Personally, I do not think they will bring one back this year will wait until 31/12 when all the old ones expire and have a new off peak offering next year that will not be as good as it used to be.

Got this response from 5hem at the start of the year posted it somewhere on here. Others got the same reply.

Thank you for contacting us regarding our Frequent Traveller scheme.

As you will be aware, Eurotunnel indefinitely suspended the sale of these accounts and we are very aware that this has caused disappointment amongst our regular customers. However, it is an issue that is proving quite difficult to resolve.

On the one hand, we understand your position and would like to be able to help by introducing a ticket type that corresponds to your needs. On the other hand, we are in a very difficult position due to the reduction of traffic as a result of the health checks imposed by the governments at the border, in both directions. We do not, at this stage know when the crisis will end and this constrains our ability to launch new products.

Please rest assured that we do not want to lose your custom, but I hope you understand that circumstances do not allow us to go further at this time.

As soon as we can see a sustainable route out of the present travel restrictions, we will be in contact with all our regular customers to let them know of any discounted tickets.

Thank you for your continued loyalty to our service and I look forward to welcoming you back under better conditions as soon as possible.

Kind regards

Saffron

Oh well, looks like it's gonna be Ireland!

We are gonna have to book with Tesco points, till they bring back something resembling frequent traveller.

We're going to use DFDS Newhaven Dieppe, and send Eurotunnel copies of the booking. I think they are using Covid to back out of issuing cheap tickets, and unless they are shown that that will cost them business they will succeed.

The problem is people are still travelling with Eurotunnel despite the high prices so what incentive is there for ET to offer a low cost frequent traveller program again ?

We've got loads and considered using them for ET but the cost is extortionate even with them, now we don't have Lily who was terrified of ferries we are able to consider them again but it's still not cheap, certainly cheaper than going to/from Ireland but then you've got to add in the pet cost which can't be offset with Tesco vouchers plus the worming coming back ... still not ruled France out though.

From a business perspective I agree, they need to get as much money in as they can and there are those who will use ET regardless of cost so as soon as they introduce a FT type scheme again they will be cutting their own throats. Hopefully once things get back to higher demand and they start a full service again they'll introduce something again to fill the gaps on the trains.

How much is Ireland ferry for a van?
Depends on size, route, day & time as some have discounts Tues/Wed/Thurs.

For us at silly-o'clock times Cairnryan-Larne came out cheapest at £150 with P&O , Holyhead-Dublin at £199 with Irish Ferries. The beauty of Irish Ferries is that we can pay for the vast majority of the cost with Tesco vouchers so only have to put in 'cash' of £4 with them but with the others it's £45.

I was told by ET CS staff, and also by French staff, that ET intend introducing a form of off peak ticket in the future, but why it was described as off peak I don’t know. FT tickets could be described as off peak I suppose.

I would recommend that all who want Eurotunnel to continue with Frequent Traveller (or similar) tickets, Broken Link Removed them so they get some idea of the demand. After all, people who are willing to prepay for a number of crossings is money in the bank for them.
