Afternoon Funsters, we are on our first trip in our van abroad and it's peeing down 🥲☔We haven't seen many Brits since we've been away. Anyone here in Dordogne?

Aye - just waiting for the rain to stop 🤫!
We're planning to be down there in the next week or so🤞. Any advice?
Enjoy your holiday.

We're on our way down that way, not raining up here near Caen - yet! :giggle:

Hey 👋 we are also in France, a bit further south than the Dordogne. In Moissac. Went searching for sun and found more rain 😩
We left Scotland to come to come to the south of France and had a lot of rain! Ironically it’s sunny and dry at home.
We’ve not seen many British vehicles either. They must have checked the forecast 🤣

Was lovely until this morning. Monpazier is beautiful. Small Aire by fire station.

Almost stopped raining, just leaving Monpazier for Villefranche du perigord, hope it's better, although girl in shop said Dordogne is wet for few days☹️. Still beats working

You are 74 kms north of my place and it's pouring down, here!
I'll probably see the ducks coming in a few minutes... they love my garden when it's a lake! Cheeky birdies
Bonjour yodeli apologies for bringing the Scottish weather with us!
Hoping for better weather next week 🤞🏻

We had planned to visit France about now, but having checked the weather forecast did 180 degree turn and headed to Scotland

Weather so far has been excellent

Hope you find some sun soon

We've been in France since we sped the Spanish weather, almost four weeks ago. In that time, we haven't seen a drop of rain.
We spent the first three weeks in Provence - Arles, Pont du Gard, Aix, St. Rémy. We did have some Mistral in the early days, but nothing like the wind and rain in Spain.
Most of the time it has been sunny and warm, and we've got the tan which eluded us in Spain. We've had a fabulous time.
On the Tunnel on Wednesday, so have been heading slowly north for the past few days. After looking at the weather apps we decided to take an eastern route - Lyon, Dijon, Reims - and weatherwise it has paid off.
We're near Epernay tonight and it's been cloudy but dry all day. This is the first day for a while when we haven't had warm sunshine. We're so glad that we decided to make an early exit from Spain (and we've still got the Sahara sand on our van). 😒

We have been in Brittany for nearly 2 weeks and the weather has been good. It isn't hot but mostly sunny and dry. The forecast for the west coast of France looks good after a few showers early next week. We are starting to head south on Monday. The bread, pâté and vegetables, especially lettuce and tomato beat anything you will find in the UK. :)

Just got home last night after 3 weeks in France. Mainly in the Lot and Dordogne.
Had good weather but had to chase it at first.
Puy l eveque, Prayssac, Douelle etc in the Lot.
Sarlat in the Dordogne.
Stopped at Villandry in the Loire on the way back, stunning. In fact all of them stunning.
Then back to earth with a bump at Dover port. What must other nationalities think when they arrive there ? First impressions and all that. Then 200 miles drive home on what we laughingly call roads.
Bit of work commitment for a couple of months then off again, can’t wait.

We were planning to set of next Sunday for 4-5 weeks sticking purely to France, but are seriously thinking of postponing for a couple of weeks to see if there's any improvement in the weather.

Well it's stopped raining at last, thought we were going to need a boat🤣

Finally really lovely blue skies. Parked in Issieac, medieval town. Well worth visiting. 2 good options for P4N

We're at Sanguinet, Landes dept, lovely and sunny today, mid 20s, just right. Same yesterday but due to be cooler tomorrow so we're heading up to Bourg, Gironde dept for a couple of days or so. So glad we have had mainly good weather as it has made looking after Lily easier and she's enjoyed chilling out on the beach etc under the shade of her umbrella.
