To avoid splashing my jeans and shoes when emptying our cassette, I try to keep well back, bending forward. Even then it seems to me that inevitably there are splashes, even with careful use of the anti-airlock button. Some arrangements are better designed than others.

This recent trip I hurt my back, and found the emptying routine either painful or almost impossible.

Then I wondered if I was looking at the problem from the wrong angle, and rather than trying to avoid those splashes, shouldn't I be seeing if they could be stopped.

Any tips from anybody?

I have never noticed any splashes but perhaps I am unobservant. I once saw someone trying to empty his cassette by taking out the slide thingy, opening the valve and turning it upside down. Plenty of splashes then, I stood well back. I dont know what he thought the spout was for.
Main thing is keep the air inlet button pushed in before, and during pouring, I can't think of anything else that would work, except getting someone else to do it.
In some places there is one of those machines that charges you for emptying, I expect that avoids risk of splashing though being a tight git I have never used one.

I never use the air button, as that does cause splashes. I open the main trap hole (fully open blade) and open the sliding cover. I then open and remove the spout screw lid and pour the contents out. Never any glugging, and pours out very efficiently every time. With no splash back!

Never had any splash back yet emptying mine, you need to aim your stream better

Change the loo to another system.
A separation system could work, bag the solids, direct the liquids to grey tank, job done.

Just put your waterproofs on and don’t worry about it😂😂😂seriously though if you get the spout as far into the empty point as possible there won’t be much splashing😊

C’mon folks, it’s just a matter of aim
If you get it wrong it’s gonna splash……

Perch spout end of cassette on edge of dump point with spout extended and cap off.. press air button and gently lift other end of cassette up and allow contents to gently empty out..
No splashing.... Simples!!!!
