Just booked into my German dealer for 1st Damp check and Alko chassis maintenance.

85 euros 😁

Combined with a few weeks in Europe assuming all travel will be cleared by then. - can't wait!

What dealer please. UK dealers are rip off so I looked for ours to go to Germany contacted a couple of dealers but no response.

We have used Campirama in Belgium, they log onto hymer to register the damp check and provide a paper screen shot. Also good english spoken.
 
Nearly always take mine to my Belgium dealer last time didn't charge to grease the axle.
If I can't combine it with a trip I get a 24hr chunnel crossing for £50 still cheaper than a UK dealer.

I had a lot of work done once at a Fiat Pro garage in France the labour rate 3 years ago for fully trained mechanic was 56 euros hr, in the uk £100 hr big difference dont get it really. Bill

On their website for workshop it has the following, what do i need?

The services of the workshop team:

  • Warranty work for Dethleffs and Sunlight
  • Service and repair work of all makes
  • Gas testing
  • Leak test
  • HU / AU
  • Installation of spare parts and accessories / special components
  • Repair of accident damage

That’s good and probably the right rate the Erwin Hymer centre (Staffs)quoted £400 for damp and habitation check and £200 for just a damp check. I know they have overheads with the blingy showroom but given we have a pvc it did seem awfully excessive.

HU = HauptUntersuchung (General Mechanical Test) AU = AbgasUntersuchung (Emissions Test) You get 1 piece of paper for the HU and another for the AU

It depends what you want - I'm going purely for the annual check and respray to maintain the Dethleffs 'damp' warranty and get the Alko 'greased'.

Suggest you just email and list what you require. Its easiest to email as although they have decent English speakers if there are any words they don't understand it gives them a chance to google and reply (in English) ;).
