Hello Funsters.
This lucky boy got bought an Echo for Xmas.
Obviously can use it in MH on 240v hook up but does anyone have one running when using leisure battery?
Inverter is an obvious option but o wanted to know if anyone has tried directly on 12V? The power brick put of the box says output 18v so o am not hopeful bit you never know!

Why not ask your new gadget? :)

But if you can find a laptop car charger which produces 18 volts and get the plug and polarity correct it could be made to work I think.

I've bought one of these:
"DigitCont USB 5V to DC 12V Power Cable, Compatible with Amazon Echo Spot and Echo Dot 3rd Generation, USB Voltage Step Up Converter Cable, Power Supply Adapter Cable, DC 5V to DC 12V Cable"

...but re-reading your OP, it might not be suitable if you've got the grown up full size Echo.

Try looking for laptop cables/adapters 12v ->18v
Sure I bought something similar for my Toshiba laptop

Poundland did have some rechargeable battery bases for these. £5.
You may be lucky and find one somewhere but I heard there was a big demand for them.

I might have something that would do the job. I bought it mistakenly thinking it would do my lap top. Not at home to take a photo but I will when I get back.

Thanks everyone. Still love the wealth of knowledge available here.
