This pic, uploaded by an American lady 5 years ago to Panoramio is one of my favourites, showing her hubby on their front porch as a kid and as an adult. Love the socks.

Inspired by the above photo I found an old Polaroid of me sitting on a wall in Barmouth aged 16 in 1975. On a recent trip there we set up a shot from exactly the same angle with me sitting 3 feet to to the right of that spot on the same wall. I've managed to merge them together to show me then sitting with me now. Great fun, and not incredibly difficult to do.

It is quite weird as one photo dissolves into the other - a bit like ghosts appearing and disappearing.

Very good, going to Moreton in Marsh CC site on Sunday for 2 weeks, will look at the square in a different light....

What it shows brilliantly is the absurdity of war. All the expense of those ships, all that destruction, and for what ? Same Germans, same French, same English and the Germans in control again.
