Does anyone know the best place to get some of these Alko airbags ? Both of mine don’t hold the air anymore so will need replacement .

Thank you . Just looking to replace the ones that are there . I thought they looked like Alko and I have a leaflet that came with the motorhome suggesting is an Alko air system but who knows lol

The air bag system fitted may be Alko but the chassis may not. the Alko chassis layout is different and is torsion bar as far as I know, not the leaf spring arrangement.

Cheers Phill. I think I’ve found the ones I have in the photo on my last reply 👍🏻

Hi, as long as your compressor and gauges are working, you'll only need bags.

The chassie looks like a Fiat.

looking at your chassis photo i think you could fit the ones in the ebay link which are well made and good quality. the only issue is the single guage and T piece the provide is not the best way of connecting them up. but you would use your existing anyway

Failure of the bags is unusual. Have you checked the pipework & all connectors?
The mechanic told me they were spit due to being old and perished ,when he did the MOT and service last year . So you don’t think it’s likely ?

It's perfectly possible - just not common. Especially in pairs.

I get the impression the last couple of owners didn’t really bother with repairing things like that . They are probably 14 years old and failed at different times I would guess 👍🏻

If they are left under inflated for long period they can get damaged, but its worth trying to reinflate them and checking the pipework as has been suggested.

pressure it right up and spray everything with soapy water to find the leaks

Just put some air in and they have inflated and are very slowly losing air . Looks like it could well be a leak in one of the lines as you suggest .

Took these pictures 7 minutes apart . Looks like the left gauge is going down and the right is holding ?

its a tracking job then along what looks to be the Black line from the guage to the bellows with the old soapy water spray,

assuming its a pipe problem then it is most likely to be either; damage to the line; or at one of the joints and there should only be 2, one at the guage and one at the bellows.

if thats not the case then i would use the soapy water over the bellows to check for any leaks there. the pipe line is as cheap as chips to replace.

so its on your back under the van im afraid ;)

Do I remove the gauge to check the joint or will that be under the van ?

just remove the black cover and spray some soapy water (made up in a small spray bottle if you have one) over the joint and watch carefully for any bubbles, if there is a leak you will see bubbles form and pop judging by the slow loss of pressure then you will need to watch carefully. same at the bellows end spray the joint and watch.

PS; looks like you can remove the black cover from its place with the guages attached to the black mounting box and make it easier for you.

Found it ! It’s a leaky bag but just the one side. What should I do ? Can it be repaired ? Can I replace just one or should I get a set of 2 ?

Great stuff glad it worked for you.
I would suggest, but not absolutely essential but for peace of mind I would change the pair. that is a FIAT chassis so it would be worth comparing costs of replacing with the same make or another.

those look like they are clamped to the top part of the spring and then fixed to the top chassis member same set up as mine but an earlier model.

it looks like the alko ones you have are discontinued,
