Three years ago we travelled to Morbihan down the A84 from Caen and stopped for a break. It was a pleasant aire - nothing too special- but I found rows of plum trees dropping fruit everywhere. All colours and sizes. We gathered quite a few and had stewed plums for the rest of that week!
I can't remember which aire. We'll be going that way again. There aren't too many aires and I've been looking for something that looks likely on GoogleEarth. I think it must be Saint Jean des Essartiers after exit 42

Anyone stopped here with memory of plums?!

So very sorry but I read your post but the last sentence sent me into fits of laughter.
