Hi

Our air awning beam is leaking around the valve area.

Any suggestions on repair materials please?

I had a Vango Airbeam tent which had a slow leak from the day I got it. The seller just supplied me with a new tube. Not necessarily a solution for you but a replacement could be the answer. Replacing it wasn’t difficult.

I agree with the above most likely solution if it is around the area where the valve joins the tube is a new tube unfortunately.

Our airbeam awning had a slow leak. Turned out when it was made the hole for the valve had not been cut through properly, the 'hanging chad' was doubled over so the valve did ot seat correctly took ages to find but easily fixed.
Had another leak later, small pin prick that we fixed with pvc electrical tape.

If the bladders are made of pvc you can get repair patches and use pvc glue.
I have successfully repaired punctures in our kayak bladders in you would have thought impossible places, along seams etc.
But our kayak only pumps up to 1.5psi.
Pvc glue is like contact adhesive apply the glue put the patch on to spread the glue , pull it of for till the glue goes dull, around 4min. Re apply and put some weight on it for a few hours.

Just a thought, would this gunk that is used instead of a spare tyre work, or would it block the valve completely?

How does it work in tyres? Does one have to buy new tyre?

Most of the stuff you put in tyres is latex with bits init to block the holes.
I contacted several manufacturers about whether I could use it in my pvc kayak bladders, they either didn’t know or couldn’t be bothered to find out for me.
I’ve heard some people using the one called slime in inflatable dinghies but they are generally made of some kind of rubber.

The Camper Specialist I took it to rang me.

They cannot repair it, so could I collect.

They do not have an account with Manufacturer (Sunncamp Brand). So could not help.

I have rang SunnCamp, they said I had to email them.

They want £60.50 inc VAT and Post for a new bladder.

So I am going to attempt a repair.

The leak is tiny, but big enough to deflate after a day or two.
