Aguri Motorhome Caravan RV740 DVR

I have one. It works well for me. It has the capabilities of an I pad type device in as much that it can surf the Internet if tethered to a device, and can be loaded with any useful apps etc. You can read revues on the net and watch informative videos to help make up your mind. Not sure how legal it will be in some countries since it has a built in dash cam.

I had an Aguri but never really got on with it. I didn’t find it very intuitive and sometimes the route mapping was a bit odd. As to the dash cam in countries where they are frowned on, I’d just turn the dash cam off.

Thank you for that.

The problem with Portugal is your not supposed to even have one in the vehicle.

Not true, another urban myth!
……quote unquote………

Dash cams on vehicles & CCTV etc are NOT illegal in Portugal & footage can be used in insurance claims & often (but not always) in court cases. However, footage may not be used for purposes such as youtube compilations or ‘Candid Camera’ type things without the written permission of all those in the footage.

Strange, that was something I read on here just a few days ago and it appeared to be official.

HFK posted the article, Dash Cams Abroad.

Quite simply, it’s wrong!
There is no law relating to dash cams specifically.
There is a law about filming people and property without consent in general, but how does that apply to everyone’s selfie shots and videos on social media! It’s an ‘interpretation’ thing, and I’ve never known anyone be pulled up for it for any reason😉

The reason you probably can’t find a law that states that is because
you’re trying to prove a negative but as there is no legislation that says they
are illegal, they are therefore not illegal & what purposes they may/may not be used for will be found (mostly) in the laws relating to right to privacy legislation.

I Like my Aguri720!!

We had the 720 and it was the worst sat nav I’ve ever had, slow, questionable routing and extremely annoying with its bleeps and not letting you know which direction to head until you’ve been moving for a few hundred yards. The dimensions input thing is worthless and can end up giving you very long diversions for no good reason.
As said in another thread, I nearly threw it out of the window on a couple of occasions I was so wound up by it.
Plus, it has to be upright to point the camera where it should be and that impedes the view of the screen.
The 740 needs be a significant upgrade if it’s to be any good, personally I wouldn’t touch another Aguri.
Oh, they are also stupid money for what they are.
I went back to a basic Garmin and now on Apple play with Google or Maps.
