I'm a newbie
We've got a night booked at a CL near Newbury then 3 nights at carfest south leaving on Monday 29th aug in the morning

While we're down south we are thinking of adding 5 or 6 nights , probably 5 as it's always difficult to get a Saturday night but I've no idea where to go

Never been to the Isle of Wight but then I read it's run down and like stepping back in time , so maybe down as far as Devon, dorset or Somerset , definitely coastal

What we're looking for is somewhere central to a town or with a good bus service close by

Thanks for any suggestions

Weymouth or the New Forest? We like Hurst View near Lymington. You could pop over to the IoW for a day or so plus plenty more to do in the area.About a 1.5miles into town so not far to walk, cycle or cab it

Jump into the tunnel and bob about Northern France for a few days

Whats it like getting tickets these days after not being advertised on radio 2 ??

I booked early , the campsite sells out fast , especially the motorhome pitches with ehu

I think there are still day tickets for sale, they release them in batches

Is gobby ginge still involved with car fest?
Few years ago we wanted to go to the one in Cheshire.................until we got the price of the tickets....thought they were having a laff. Didn't bother.

Very much still his baby.We went a few years ago and had a great time but baulked at the cost for camping this time.I think Goodwood is even more though.

I would head for Dorset, lovely coastal walks, history, towns and beaches, something for everybody I think. I o W is nice, we nearly moved there, but I wouldn't pay out for a ferry for just 5 days. We have used the site at Ullwell, just outside Weymouth, swimming pool and a bus stop just outside.

Are the dates you are looking for the bank holiday? And last weekend before the kids go back to school so everywhere will be busy and expensive but there is wild camping about in Dorset but again will be busy .book ASAP to make sure you have somewhere. Have fun 👍

Maybe Arundel/Littlehampton? CMHC is in-between them. Just a thought. 👍

We went to first 5 North (Cheshire is North ????) until it got stupidly hard to get tickets. The first one was very good, then it got too big really.

It is what it is , I've been to carfest North for the day really enjoyed it

Yes Cheshire is North. On the west side of England the Midlands ends - and the North starts - once you cross from either Staffordshire or Shropshire into Cheshire. Same a little further East when you cross from Derbyshire into Cheshire, even though you might be heading in a vaguely southerly direction as you do so.

Bloody hell 😳😳😳😳
You're out of touch with how much it costs to go to a festival , £100 a night per person including a pitch and ehu for 3 full days of motorsport and music entertainment is fine by me , just priced up the ferry costs to get amotorhome to France and back on the same dates, Poole to cherbourg , £647 with a prison cell cabin, now that's a rip off

We stayed at Ernie’s Plot last June for a few nights and it was a nice spot.
You can walk across the field down the lane for 5mins to the pub that does nice food, there is a farm and craft shop just on a bit in the village.
We walked into Bridport then down to West Bay, got the bus back that stops just near the site.
A few reviews said about road noise but we never heard any.
Good view from all pitches and well spaced out.
