Hi New to the forum

We are looking to buy our first motorhome later this year /early next (had caravans previously )

As we are new looking at narrow motorhome and would like to know if anyone as the Adria Compact was after the actual width with the mirrors the website states 2120mm but believe this excludes the mirrors. A dealer has mentioned it around 2500mm .

Also looking at the Elddis Accordo 105

Would welcome any comments

Many Thanks

Mark

Hello and welcome.
We have an Adria Compact SC.
Body = 2120mm
Overall including mirrors = approx 2500mm.
It has the short arm mirrors. The Accordo (we also had one of those) will have the same mirrors.

Thanks for your reply that's really very useful.

I do like the Adria Compact DL but was concerned with the length at 6.9 compared with 5.9 with the Accordo being new to motorhome driving

Stubby vans of up to ~5.5m can just about fit into a parking space, provided it's only small cars on either side, or you use the end of a row. Anything longer than that, and you've got to search for extra space or find a space where you can hang the back out over a verge. For parking, 6.9m will be roughly as annoying as 5.9m in terms of length.

In terms of driving... Longer vans make manoeuvring a bit tougher, but vans with a long tail beyond the back axle (regardless of length) are the biggest pain. In most situations, length doesn't make that much difference most of the time.

What does make a difference is width. The Adria Compact is pretty similar in width to a van. Compared to a car, you have to take a bit more care passing parked cars, and some roadworks won't let you in the outside lane, but there aren't many situations where 2.1m is an issue. Most motorhomes are 2.3m and that extra bit of width makes a large difference on country lanes.

My previous 5.4m van in a small space down by the river in Basel... I wouldn't manage this kind of thing with my 6m motorhome.

That's really useful actually seeing the campervan in a standard parking space .

Another example. British car park. Tow ball at the back pretty much touching the barrier. A 5.4m van can pretend it's a car in some situations. But anything longer...

The length makes little difference when driving. As Guigsy has pointed out it will make a difference when parking but a 6m van will not fit in a standard parking bay anyway.
Rapido and Swift also do a compact range.
