We’re currently assessing whether to change our Van (2015 Burstner Ixeo) or spend a few quid improving things we don’t like / adding things we would like.

We’ve had the Van for 6 years and one of the things that drives me mad is only having a single garage door. It doesn’t matter how much thought we put into packing for a trip, I always end up having to crawl to the back at some point.

I have seen other Ixeos with two doors so assume it would be an option to have one added. Has anyone had this modification done on their Van, and if so, advise a ballpark figure for the modification.

We had the same issue with our Nexxo. It used to drive me mad having to crawl to the other side (after emptying a load of other stuff)
Because of our layout we had limited options for an extra door.
However after I saw an identical van to ours with an extra door I knew it could be done.
I bought a Size 4 gas locker door and had a local caravan dealer/maintenance guy fit it.
I can’t remember how much the locker door was but I think it was around £ 160 to fit.
The door might not look that large but it is surprising what goes through it. It really has transformed the van. It also looks like “right”.
Hope this helps.

As it’s something we would do only if we decide to keep the van rather than change it, I could convince myself from a cost perspective that overall it was a saving. My main concern would be finding a competent company / person to carry out the work

What is the second locker next to the gas locker?
