I've had Seatbelt Services recommended to e to fit an additional seatbelt in my van. Has anybody experience of tis company?

BumP. Just in case someone out there has experience. This should bring it back to the top. Good luck

They've quoted me £150 + vat to fit a lap only belt on the sideways facing seat by the door.
I'm considering this because anyone using this seat with the front passenger seat (LHD) facing forward is tight up against the back of the passenger seat, which would effectively stop any form of forward movement, leaving the belt to just stop any sideways or upward movement. It would only be used by an adult, not a child or a teen. We are also influenced by having a RV for over 20 uneventful years which had only lap belts. I'm assuming, but will confirm, that anything they fit will pass a MOT

Lap Belts are hip breakers even if up against a bulkhead.
Bad enough in a forward of backward facing seat, but never in a sideways seat
And what if you get rammed from behind by a bus or hgv.....no seat back to help then
I'd rather take my chances without one.

Sideways facing seats even with a full lap and shoulder belt would be dangerous in an accident. Sideways whiplash could break a neck as there is unlikely to be any head restrain like a normal seat has.
I am even sure if it legal unless the seat is a properly constructed one for travelling and not just made of wooden board.

You can only do it if your van was manufactured before 20th October 2007.
Also if anyone sustained injury due to the belt you can be prosecuted.

EC Directive 2005/39/EC does say that all vehicles manufactured after 20th October 2007 must not have side facing seats for travel as it is unsafe,

I suspected that, nice one 👍🏻

When the need arises to add a seatbelt to ours we will have to remove the rear table so that a seat can be added. It will look odd but if that's is what required then so be it. Or replace MH with one with 4 travelling seats I suppose.
