Can I top up the Adblue before the light comes on.

Yes,just top up whenever. It's cheaper if you can use the garage pump ones rather than shop bought and less potential spillage, plus no storage.

Most vehicles show a warning light to top up 500 miles or more before you need to.
Some are just plain dumb and get confused if you do before the warning appears, we’ve got some of those at work, might be worth checking with the manual or give a main dealer of the manufacturer of your vehicle a ring
