I've just noticed my dealer fitted solar system incorporates an AC rather than DC rated isolation switch. How much of an issue is this in reality?

When switching DC it is more prone to arcing if using an AC switch you down rate if switching DC.
That switch is rated at 400v 32 amps it will be Ok. The only thing I would say is don't switch it when you have 500 watts of solar charging at the max.

Test it, it may be the spring loaded type. They reduce arcing.
