Car warranty expires soon and need to find a breakdown recovery. Anybody used the AA for motorhome recovery. AA covers upto 3500kg so I'm OK with that.
Thinking of joining them as it covers any vehicle that I travel in. With green flag for motorhome at the moment.
Any comments good or bad

I get AA with my Safeguard insurance which covers me abroad. And it was brilliant when we broke down in France - hire car, £1000 for hotel bills and a UK reg car at Calais to drive home.

Have just changed to AA, as it covers us both and all vehicles, after the unresolved fiasco with RAC.RAC no longer replying to emails, apart from generic ones asking why i didn't renew.

Just done the same.

AA also cover motorhomes up to 7.5T and 8m so cover for all of our vehicles. Opened a Halifax flex plus account to cover it

Am shutting down the Barclays travel pack as it’s with the RAC who don’t cover the motorhome as it’s over 3.5t plus they’ve just tried to rip off my wife with a breakdown.
Got it sorted and my money back though.

BikerGraham .. I would have to question this.. I am a life long AA member but had to get greenflag (through Mayday). Because AA would not cover over 3500kg.
Maybe that is only directly through AA,, possibly you get AA cover through a third party ?

I was under the impression that AA covered over 3500kg through Nationwide Flex plus?

That’s is correct.
Up to 7.5t through the flex plus account.

Also will cover for a puncture without a spare if the vehicle doesn’t have a spare as standard supply. Which Baileys don’t.

That's interesting... Mayday Greenflag has no size or weight restrictions...
Yes Green Flag bought through camc and called Mayday has a lot more flexibility than the std Green Flag. They do personal breakdown which covers you for any vehicle any length etc etc. It is very confusing to read sometimes that dealing direct with the breakdown service provider offers vastly reduced terms it's a minefield to get you head round.

We've been with them and just renewed today.
Haven't had to call them out for MH but did do some years back for our car, quick to attend.

From what I have heard, they seem to be one of the best out there and have been super helpful especially in repatriation for those with pets!

Ours covers nationwide recovery, homestart (knowing my luck, I'd break down under 1.4 miles from home then need to pay a tow!) And is unlimited calls outs and no excess....and includes recovery from mud and sand (I checked this today) as long as the recovery won't become stuck (irony)

They do say one call out for the same issue however, they explained to me that this means, for instance, your clutch goes and they do a repair to get us home but say it needs to be looked at further, then we don't and we break down again with it, they may not attend. However, if it is looked at and you breakdown with it again, they will attend.

4/5 are allegedly fixed by the roadside and I like the fact they don't tender out to other recoveries, they use their own 'very nice men' (80s nostalgia there)
