After waiting anxiously for yesterday's announcement on when COVID restrictions will be eased to permit travel [hoping for 26th April but no guarantees], just had a call from the Dealer to say that someone has requested a video viewing so it looks like we have lost the T60 Active. Paradise Lost, and the only Milton we'll be near is the stuff that gets sloshed all over the 'Click & Collect' Weekly Shopping ...

Better to be disappointed at missing out than to be looking out at a motorhome that we bought without physically viewing and 'trying it for size' and regretting ever having bought it, he said, putting a brave face on it. C'est la guerre ...

Doesn't say they are going to buy it, if it's what you want go and get it now, won't be lockdown for ever, if you wait we shall probably be going into the next one before you can get another van.

We have no motorhome experience on which to base the purchase decision and we need to see and test things like seats, including driving position etc before committing to the purchase. We have caravan experience so know about the daily living side of things etc, but need to check the m/home specific stuff.

We have only a possible date of 26th April for the lifting of lockdown and to be able to travel beyond the Scottish Border. Dealerships in Scotland may be able to reopen on 5th April, so we *may* be able to visit a local Dealer to view and buy. Time will tell.

Could you put a deposit down subject to viewing when restrictions are ending?

we have a refundable deposit with SMC and a viewing booked for April 15 for a motorhome we are interested in. Other dealers are doing similar.

I also have a refundable deposit on a motorhome, not many people would buy a motorhome sight unseen, the dealer did me a video about 16 minutes long on the strength of that i put a modest deposit on it subject to viewing. Whilst it is still advertised on the Internet they have put a sold sticker on it and fenced it off from other stock.

could be a sales tactic to jolly you on

We were awaiting a phone call back from the Dealers yesterday to discuss the detail. This morning we get the call to tell us a Video Viewing had been arranged and the m/home would be sold. Tbf, they were expecting to be discussing a deposit from us for a subsequent visit to buy, but the other party was prepared to buy on the basis of the video.
