Shot in the dark. Has anyone fitted a caratow adaptor plate to the front of a fiat 500. Looking for some video links or info and possible some bracket measurements as having to alter the bracket I have. TIA

This Fiat 500 frame was for sale recently.
Does it help? Screenshot_20200226-125206.pngScreenshot_20200226-125206.pngScreenshot_20200226-125219.png

There are 2 types of Caratow, Original and Euro. They both use a slightly different base plate.

Have a look at this ...Its what I actually used and converted for my Fiat 500 and using a Car a tow A frame.

It worked very well indeed and its still in use today. I have a Fiat Abarth with a RV1 Brake Buddy fitted now. Just need a truck!

Great cheers no rush at the mo. But would be great if you can give me something to do during grounding. Looks a great job by the way. Have you got cable or electric braking system

Which Fiat is it off?. I have a 2005 Punto ?.

Hi Macca..Our frame was originally off an Aygo which I cut down as in the pictures and made it fit. It just needed 50 mm from the centre off ours to make it look the part. I had removed one of the extension brackets that went inside the box section behind the crash bar support frame but that was for ease of fit more so than anything really.
The Pictures below should give you an idea of its finished sizes for the Fiat 500 lounge that we had as seen in the pictures sent earlier.
The final fit for me i cut the lower Honey comb mesh at the front with a 50mm hole cutter to allow the lower eye bolts to just pop through enough to either take off and use a plastic plug to cover when not in use or to allow the Badge bar that you see to be left on whilst touring. It worked well for me I think personally.
The Abarth we now have will still have the same frame fitted but with extensions fitted for the eye bolts because of the nose on the abarth sits further forward because of the coolers fitted behind.

Many thanks. This is the bracket I’ve got to mod so looking at you’re finished frame it looks like it’s doable. Just need to sneak the front end off when the boss isn’t looking?

Im sure you can sort it with out too much difficulty. The front panel of the Fiat 500 comes off quite easily too. `Just dont forget the screws under the wheel arch? Especially the one with the Torx bit tucked away holding the inner arch together to the wing.
