Hubby has now seen a Pilote Sensation A Class that he thinks could well meet all our needs. However, it is 7.5m long and manual. We currently have 7m auto plus we don’t really know much about Pilote motorhomes.
So for all you expert owners...
Any issues in driving manual on that length?
Is the overhang overly long and problematic?
Any issues to look out for?
Can you leave the hose in the water filler so you can keep topping up when needed?(when on a site with own water pipe)
General comments on build quality
Many TIA

Not really an answer on the pilot side but our 7.5m manual C Class bailey is no problem length wise.
Maybe some pilot owners might come back now that your thread is back on page 1.

Manual means you have to change gear it comes naturally after a while and an extra 1/2 metre won’t make any difference, most vans you can jam the pipe in the filling hale or get an atachment so you put a cap with the hose attached on

I wouldn't advise it. Spiders, flies and even wasps may get in the tank.

We have a 2014 Pilote G741 and have no problems driving a MH this length. The overhang is not going to be much different from a 7m MH. Depending what chassis your current MH is on and also which the new van is on you may find the rear wheels are on a wider track than the front ones so you might find that when turning left out of a side road you need to be further over to the right to avoid clipping the kerb.
As for build quality it depends how old the van is. I would check that the drawers in the kitchen all latch properly and cant be opened without pressing the catch (on my list of things to fix). Also - if it has the curved cupboard under the sink check that this latches closed ok (ours has had a mod from the previous owner to make it close properly.)
Same applies to the catches that hold any outside locker doors up vertically.

I've had 2 older A class Pilote's , loved them both , couldn't fault them , we just needed narrower coachbuilt , roads in Cornwall quite narrow.
