Had planned to go up into wales next month but with the wife’s nerves already shot (and TBH im
Feeling it a little as well) the prospect of a welsh lockdown meant I’ve had to rethink . So north Devon and Cornwall it is both on CS but looking for something on the south (south west) coast between Plymouth and Poole-ish if anyone has a suggestion ? Dog walking and views would be great

Cofton park always. Some great walks from the site through the woods to Dawlish Warren then along the coast to Dawlish. Two nice pubs 5 minute walk from site. ACSI rates available. Good bus service outside gates. Nearby train service to Exeter - Torquay and beyond. Some pitches on elevated position offering views. A top commercial site at CL prices but doesn't have a commercial site feel about it when kids aren't there.

some lovely walks along the fleet around Weymouth area, Ive stayed a few times at Bagwell Farm, lovely site

Timed that well didn’t I . All credit to the campsite though I cancelled before they had to and immediately left my deposit on account for next year . Can’t really argue with that

Can recommend our part of Devon small town called Colyton. Near to is the old seaside town of Seaton as is well known Lyme Regis, Beer and Branscombe. Between colyton and Seaton is a nice tram ride. Camp site in Colyton called Shiphay Farm, very basic but ok . Several four star camp sites near Colyton. Any more help let me know.

Have to agree with this wholeheartedly! We go there as day visitors with the grandkids to take them swimming. Lovely cafe/restaurant next to the indoor heated pool. Staff always helpful and friendly. Separate large bar with food downstairs and a shop on site. Nice seafood restaurant/pub at the Anchor at Cockwood. Sainsbury's supermarket only about a mile away towards Dawlish. Chinese a bit further on on the outskirts of Dawlish. Some flat cycling along the estuary all the way to Exeter and to Dawlish Warren the other way. Powderham Castle along the road to Exeter with farm shop and lovely Orangerie cafe/restaurant plus plant and gift shop.

I agree stayed there when we had that warm spell a few weeks back. Thought the site was great and some lovely walks as it’s right on the coastal path. Also only five miles from Weymouth. Highly recommend.

If you want views (and dog walking) Highlands End. A short downhill walk to Bridport and a slightly longer /slower walk back.
