2018 chic e-line island bed.

We have a usb port factory fitted below reading light on one side of the bed.
Mrs Ant has decided she would like one similarly fitted on the opposite side also (who am I to argue).
It does seem to make sense and wondered if anyone has done it.
Many thanks for any pointers

All the best

We have the island be as well and it is fairly straight forward. I brought a 12V USB socket off amazon. Drill a largish hole for it in the wardrobe wall. The hardest part is finding a 12V supply and neatly fitting the cable. If you already have one socket then I expect there is 12V behind it.
Depending where the socket is but running cable under the mattress is neat

would something like this help? if you have a light could you just change it?

I'm not sure whether it would give a fast charge or not, but i suppose it depends on what you're charging. if its for overnight charging when in bed, it might be absolutely fine. this one has a charging capacity of 2A whereas i think fast charge provide 3.1A - hopefully some of the techie's can add their opinion/knowledge?

Slightly off topic but - one reading light fitting failed over the bed of our Hymer, I replaced both lights with similar that had integral USB sockets.

A quick, easy and very cheap fix is to use a splitter:

I know that it means both sockets will be on the same side and the charging rate may be reduced but that probably doesn’t matter if you want them for overnight charging.
