I'm a newbie
Hi Everyone, My 1st question after around a year. I want to add a second 80ah gel leisure battery to my 2010 Hymer B528CL. I think I have understood from various posts how to make all the connections correctly, certainly plenty of good sound advice. My problem is one of physicality... my existing battery is under the driver's seat (lhd) and there's no room anywhere close by for a second. My best location is probably in the bottom of the wardrobe, further back and on the other side of the bus. Any advice on getting 2 cables from under the seat to there (neatly) would be greatly appreciated, I am sure someone here must have done similar? Thanks in anticipation.

I did similar on my last Rapido. Put second one in the wardrobe base I found I had to raise the Base of the Wardrobe to clear it and the wheel arch below. I ran the cable in this.:- http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=112587731202 . You will want at least 4mm/sq cable too.

I went through the floor and Tie wrapped the Conduit to various chassis members. I also had to Vent the (new) battery bay, (Mine where both FLA Batteries)

Sorry PeteH, Thought I had responded to your post but not sure that it 'went', doesn't seem to appear this morning. Your advice seems very sound ( and probably obvious to others). To be clear, go down from the compartment under seat somehow, run along the chassis under the vehicle with my 2 16mm2 cables in duct and return up somewhere near my destination. My wardrobe is closeish to wheel-arch but the bottom is flat which should help. Sometimes though I can't see the wood for the trees! Thanks for the sound help and advice.

How about under the passenger seat? Cables would run in the void behind / below the seats.

I can't remember why , but I seem to recall that it isn't recommended to have a large distance between the two connected batteries.
Maybe worth asking about?

Thanks for all the excellent advice on this. I became more encouraged by tonyidle's thoughts, also the rather damp weather we have been suffering from made working all inside much more condusive. Anyway 'job done' like a good Boy Scout and photo included of my route exposed in case it helps anyone else.

I refer the honourable gentleman to the previous posts.

Guess it does look a bit unrecognisable without the seats in there. Thanks jev88, happy travellings.
