My 2012 Ducato halogen lights needed them, so I used the protective covers rathervthan put stickers on the lenses.

The new 22 model vans will come with the latest 2021 van from Fiat. Unfortunately due to the semi conductor shortages none appear to be coming with the latest LED headlights that should be fitted and are using some form of halogen bulbs instead.

Does anyone know if they have changed the design so you can alter the headlight beam or will I need to get converters again?

Interested to know the answer, as our 2022 Ducato motorhome is arriving soon.

I believe full LED headlights are an optional extra on the Ducato 8. We didn't spec full LED, but it's meant to have LED daytime running lights as standard. All 2022 models landing on UK soil so far have not had LED DRLs though, which I believe is chip shortage related, as you rightly said.

Legislation and requirements:

Vehicle manufacturers must fit DRL to new types of passenger car and light goods vehicle (car derived vans) type approved to European vehicle requirements from February 2011[footnote 1] . In practice this means that any new model launched after this date, and many launched before, will be fitted with DRL. However, existing models on sale before this date without DRL fitted can continue to be sold and used indefinitely.

.gov.uk Website.
Not sure this is relevant. 2022 vans are coming with DRLs... just not LED DRLs in some instances.

Sorry OP, didn't meant to hijack. I'm keen to hear the answer to your original question (y)

Same boat Roy 2022 seem's a poor year for LED's as read somewhere if you desperately need them they want £4k option. So chip's obviously now gold plated 🤣
Stupidly you can buy a pair for £695 probably off someone like eurowagons do copies I've used in the past ! I believe they can be converted and programmed to the ecu.
Anyway back to beam converters, as you say it's a horrible thought sticking cheap Ebay one's on, only to get hot and weld to your pristine lenses 🙈
Off to Europe next month so need to see if I can get them manually adjusted with the adjusters, or it's now £70+ for covers whic can potentially get stolen.
I'm not even sure our headlights are EU friendly, so please let me know, as I will you if we can get to the bottom of this 🙏

Also do you know what this plug is for Roy???
Maybe the upgraded led drl's if they were fitted, as sure we all have them, under headlights when I removed them to upgrade the Osram bulbs??? Sam . . .

Our Adrian twin 640 SLB will have ‘Full LED’ when it eventually arrives. Fiat changed the lights after we ordered. What that means in terms of driving in Europe, I don’t know yet but will ask the dealer when I’m back from holiday. I’ve ended up with two sets of lights for our current van one lot of LHD with LED and a rhd set that I got to be able to register the van after import. It’s a 10 minutes job to swop them over so that’s what I do.

Wow that's fine if you had to buy other set anyway, but most of us won't want to spend all that extra money, and I certainly wouldn't be carrying them in the van to swap on ferry, although yes it's a piece of cake for you, as uprated my bulbs last week, took 10 mins a side. We just need to get the spec of our 2022 Halogen clear lights, but think they will need either adjusting from the lamp (If that's an option) or euro lites converter stickers or lense protectors. Waiting see if anyone else know's any better on here 🤷‍♂️

SAMSTAR 2023 sorry I have no idea about the plug. I bought the covers in the end as I’m sure you cannot adjust them. Nothing in the manual.

Was there a follow up to this on the beam benders ?
My 2023 model has the full LED lights and I can find anything in the book .

Did you ever find out what this plug is for. I’ve one on either side of my van and I’m curious?
