Hi
Am new to this site and have been reading some threads and thought i would have a go to see if any could help please.

I have a issue installing my reverse/horse area camera into my new horsebox the, i am after finding out if anyone knows where i could locate the reverse switch wire at the bulkhead that i could splice off, instead of feeding the switch wire to the reverse light itself ? the rear lights bulbs i can get too if they need changing but to get to the back of the light is near on impossible to reach too so i need to locate the reverse wire further up the loom (ideally at the bulkhead) but have no idea where to look or what colour the wire is...any help would be apprecaited.

On my x250 I picked mine up inside the cab below the fuse box near the drivers knee, on a green multi plug.

I have photos, that you could look at to see if it’s the same on the x290 you have.

You would still need to test it as the image showing the x250 has a different colour wire to mine, but in the same pin on the plug.

I gave up trying to find it on my 2017 x290 it was easier to run a wire to the rear light.

If it’s in the same place as the x250 you’d kick yourself how close and easy it is.....

It took me ages to find any info on it as most people just give up.....

I actually removed the pin from the plug and made a plug in ’T‘ with matching pins and plugs so I didn’t cut the loom either.

Thanks for reply but does the X250 have the same loom as my Peugeot Boxer ? If so i think i know which plug you re talking about, does the green plug go into where the OBD is ?

Yes that’s it....

It has a blue lever to release it before you can unplug it

I stuck in pin in practically every wire going into the fuse box to try and find it & none of the info on the Web was right. Mine is LHD you would expect them to use the same colours but you never know with Fiat.

On my X250 there's a feed behind the courtesy light....

The one I used comes from that green plug with the blue lever beside the fuse box, not exactly off the fuse box.

That’s the plug opened up......

and it was that fourth pin from the right on the top row. On mine the cable was white with a green trace tho. That’s why you’d still need to check if it was the right wire and the right pin on the x290

Yes I know the one, it sounds exactly the same on my 2017 chassis & Nasher I also have another 2016 horsebox but i had the reversing camera fitted whilst the body was being built, i brought the same camera to fit in my 2017 model, i tried to see what wire it was spliced onto by taking the dash apart but couldnt find where & makes sense now as the camera is mounted on the rear view mirror and the wires go into the roof lining... i wll pull the light out tomorrow to have a look as didnt think to check there.

This is what I made, but you could easily just splice into it after you’d spiked it to test. I just didn’t want to splice into my loom.

Thanks so much XxAnthxX that would be the easier option for me as i am mounting my camera on the dash by door post, also i did try one of them wires last night as i got told it may be the White wire with green stripe, i will try the blue stripe one tomorrow :giggle:

Definitely try the fourth pin in first as shown, there was a few white and blue and a few white and green in my plug.
