Lovely Van, Premium Make, enjoy.

Check under the bonnet there is a metal plate covering the engine and supporting the air ducts (not structural) but a design fault lets the rain run down the back of the bonnet onto that plate and they can rust.
Replacement part was about 800 and a pain to fit due to the narrow access hatches. 65088F43-6333-4FC4-A522-7491440B96C8.jpegE6F01690-56AF-4A94-A815-8329EF9DCF37.jpeg

£800? I would have had a copy made in stainless steel for a fraction of the cost

The body is an aluminium sandwich both inner and outer walls are aluminium, my Hymer is the same.
So no rust and little chance of damp, what should I look out for if I cant do a damp test?

You can still get leaks through roof seals, hatches, windows, locker doors even though unlikely do do lasting damage due to construction

Check shower tray, double glass glazed side windows, leaks from water system.

Check manufacturers date stamp on tyres. If over 5 years old you'll probably need to replace all 6.

Check for reverse judder up an incline.

Check for staining on the inner wall fabric - an indicator of leaks.

Check operation of large skylight. Replacement parts now unavailable. £600+ for latest mark 2 version.

Many thanks all.
There are one or two known issues, that will be resolved.( in writing)
1 there is a chip in the windscreen and a replacement has been ordered.
2. The large skylights is damaged and the sellers have ordered a spare to be installed.
3. An issue with the plastic surround on the had door again ordered.

They have agreed to have a service and MOT completed and they will have a look to see if there are any issues..

We have 6 moths guarantee from the dealer...

It's our intention to pop over again on Tuesday, I;; have another look at the tyres, they looked like they were fairly new and 'proper' motorhome tyres I think they were Agilis, not 100%..

When I looked at the van, there have been zero mods, well besides a Pioneer multi play CD unit, and a Cobra alarm. One owner from new 55k miles from new...

Deepest condolences, if they are Michelin CP's it will be worth spending some money on decent tyres.
