Presumably the spanner light is just a service due light and not some technical issue fiat decided to fit instead of putting it on OBD.
CEL not illuminated (and does work KOEO)

yes spanner is a service light, google how to turn it off yourself easily

I'll wait til I get home and do a full service. Only just arrived at the Gower peninsula site for the weekend. Cheers for the speedy reply, thought it would be the case but always a good plan to ask the internet. Although sifting the wheat from the chaff is sometimes difficult ?
