So it appears Cornwall council are making an effort to accommodate campervans and motorhomes.

For £20 you can park in the field next to a car park in Bude. No facilities. Not allowed to get chairs and tables out etc. AND - you cannot go in until 6pm and must leave by 9am. Would you?

No.

People will pay and next year it'll probably be dearer.

Perfect location for Bude, unfortunate you cannot park there in the daytime though🤔🤔🤔

Some places possibly, but not Bude. I can't see anything there that looks worth a visit to be honest.

So where do you park in the day time?
Seems a bit expensive and unusable to me, so no.
Final answer.

  • Available from JUNE 2024
  • April 1st to October 31st (6pm to 9am) – £20
  • November 1st to 31st March (6pm to 9am) – £15

What's that all about.
Price from April but not available til June

Some work going on dredging the river so the field is not currently available.

where did you read no chairs and tables ?

looks like two motorhomes parked on hard standing

I am not sure is that pic is current as it actually hasn't opened yet. Not open til June due to works going on.

Regulations....

So why advertise 2 months early.
You can't pre book so seem pointless

Probably council ineptitude. Decided to do it and then had to do some other works so couldn't open as planned.

No way.

Being forced to get up and out by 9.00am is not my idea of a holiday. It is true that often I am out and away that early but that is because I want to . . .

Exactly - that's why this is rediculous. If it was a £5 to stop overnight in a carpark (not a field with the risk of getting stuck) then possibly but £20 for what they are offering is just stupid.

And if it rains hard overnight and you are stuck and cannot get a tow truck to help you move by 9.00am, I wonder what dire consequences will land upon you thanks to the Council 'rules':unsure:

STOP PRESS: The official parking charge sign in the video shows now £21.
The Bude promotional site says for more casual parking try the sites.
Can't get much more casual than just a field can you ??

Not whilst France, Spain and everywhere else exists. Other than Cornwall, Wales and the NC500 (in a motorhome) :giggle:
