Salop Leisure

We cannot thank George and the guys enough at Salop to be honest. We have had two bad encounters with purchases from other dealers and found that on both occasions we were out of pocket because of poor habitation servicing ! Really do not know how some companies get away with it? We bought in to our second motorhome from Chelston in Somerset and with in 6 months it had to go! We had had some serious issues with the company and escalated rapidly . We decided to go to Salop for a second opinion on the trucks problems to find damp above 35% in areas behind the drivers seat and in excess again inside the gas locker on the side of the truck under the sink in the kitchen which was black! (It was an Auto trail Mohican sorry). This had just been passed as " Acceptable" and not a concern...according to the guys at Chelston!
Salop put together a comprehensive list of faults on the truck and between themselves and our solicitors, we obtained a £2000 refund traded it in to Salop against one of their Motorhomes.
Honestly and truly...we have always thought that the guys at Salop go the extra mile to assist and make it right from day one. Would we buy again from Salop? Not a problem at all! We are currently looking as we speak.
Personally...They Really are great company to deal with .

I made a 300 mile round trip to view a motorhome at this dealership.
The video of the salesman giving his blurb looked fantastic and the van - a Dethleffs Advantage A7871 was described as being fantastic.
What a disappointment.
The van was in a shocking state.
It looked like someone had taken a saw to the off side rear corner and the rest of the bodywork was poor.
Fixtures inside were damaged and missing and the so called real leather was in fact leatherette and torn in places.
To add insult to injury, the two ladies sat on reception in the big showroom didn't break off their conversation to one another whilst I was waiting to be seen and there was one salesman who seemed to be covering both the small section of Motorhomes and large section of caravans.
We left extremely disappointed.
I wrote to the company to complain about the standard of the van compared with the advertised description.
Some weeks later, someone from Salops asked me for a satisfaction survey!
Needless to say, I didn't and would not buy from Salop Leisure.
My experience was from 3 years ago.

We very often visit Salop leisure to buy bits and pieces because they are only 14mls from us .they always seem very well organised there,and the staff are always pleasant.when we were caravanning we bought 2 caravans off of them and the after sales was always good,but that was quite a long while ago.They have always been mainly caravans and statics but in recent years they have become more and more motorhome freindly with a good display now in stock.Excellent workshop facilities and cafe and they have just built a full state of the art site adjacent to their sales which we havent visited yet but i believe is very impressive.
