Yesterday while on our way to a Fun Rally Eddie said steering does not feel right pulled into a near lay-by and sure enough a flat tyre.
Had no documentation with us so googled Saga 0800 number. Got through right away to a very helpful man I explained that I had no documentation no problem, stay on line with in 10 minutes he had arranged for the RAC to come out to us which they did in half an hour, very polite and helpful a d took all the worry out of something that could have been a stressful situation

Only ever needed to claim once for a damaged windscreen in France .They were excellent ,as i was safe to get home they organized a replacement to be fitted two days after returning and the fitting was completed in an afternoon.Excellent response with just £50 excess and no increase on renewal.

Saga suspended our insurance when I was in Spain & asked a question about storage there. I explained I wasn’t going to do it if it was against the insurance, but they said because I had asked the question they couldn’t be sure I wouldn’t do it, so had to stop the insurance, I was left I. The lurch, and had to find another insurer whilst in Spain with site WiFi! Would never touch Saga with a barge pole since!

Rather difficult to review in full, as they refused to quote me because:

a) they couldn't initially find details of the very large, very well known, nationally recognised Cassoa Gold storage location. Even when they had the name of it, the website, the full address and finally the post code, they kept calling out random businesses in that area. "Is it Petes Pets"....no. "Is it Unit 5 Deliveries"....no. "Is it the mountain rescue and dogs home"....no. "Is it Toys are not us"....no (names of businesses changed to protect the innocent).

b) when we eventually moved on, they then refused to quote me as I could not confirm that the Cassoa Gold staff walk around every single week and personally check all 400 vehicles. Amazingly, Cassoa Gold registration and a full time live on site security staff is not enough to get a quote.

So, its 30 minutes of my life lost forever, trying to answer questions that not one other insurer has asked, to end up with no quotation.

Would I ever consider using them. Absolutely not.

We had the MoHo insured with Saga for several years but when we moved address to mum-in-law they wouldn’t insure it as it had to stand on the road (at the closed end of a close) so we had to go elsewhere for ins.
The car was with them for about the same amount of time but they got too expensive so I moved then went back a year later they offered me a good price, we had a bump in France-our fault-and they were very good as we waited until we into UK before it went for repair!
So mixed feelings for Saga!

I've been insured through Saga for several years, both for my motorhome, my car and my Mom's car.

Last year, when I changed cars their price was double what I others were quoting so I went elsewhere and Saga charged me £50 to cancel the policy mid-term.

When I changed motorhomes, they said that I could pay £3.50 for the remaining 10 days of the policy so that I didn't lose a year's No Claims Bonus.

I did online quotes with several companies and Saga, at £188 appeared reasonable.

Then came the bombshell. They wanted a premium of £309 for the next year. They didn't care that I'd had an online quote from them for £188; they wouldn't honour it.

I'd also had a quote from AIB for £184 so I went with them.

My Mom's car insurance was also due and Saga had upped the price by over £100, so again I did online comparisons. Direct Line came out at just £30 more than last year. Saga price-matched it in this instance but it's not good practice, is it?

I've not had to make a claim, but my experience to date with Saga is positive. The price was competitive and when I rang them to ask whether I needed a tracking device they said no.

Recently searched for a good deal for insurance on our first Motorhome. Saga was over £300 cheaper than the others.
When I rang up to query a couple of points & the lady at Saga replied I was already a customer with my & my wife car, she allowed me to have the no claims discount & protected no claims transferred to the Motorhome policy as well & reduced the cost by a further £80 + without me even asking.

They were a lot cheaper than previous company (ccc) and able to pay quarterly with no extra charge.

When starting with a new MoHo, I was being talked through the script by their call centre. It took more than half an hour for them to state that NCD from cars are not acceptable. Their loss!

Not my experience. In 2018 Saga accepted my full car NCD (after car was sold) and I got a very nice discount (VW T6).

We have been with Saga for two years now not had a claim but always find them courteous and helpful on the phone. The quote was in line with the other quotes we received. So happy with them I went with Comfort because of the extraordinary good service another funster has of them when abroad .

Was happy to insure with them for several years. Easy to contact and negotiate with. However, when I changed to a more expensive motorhome they wanted to impose all sorts of onerous requirements, so I moved to Safeguard.

I found Saga a bit more expensive than most, however when it came to paying out for a total loss through theft, they paid up in full after exactly 4 weeks. I was impressed but when I had a Tracker fitted to my Motorhome, they put up the cost of my insurance because I had 'modified' the vehicle. I left them the same day and was covered by Shield at a much reduced premium.

I have just changed my insurance from Saga to Safeguard. Better cover better price, however I would have stuck with Saga if they had sorted a problem with a fictitious claim marked on my record. I have not made any claim what I did was to ask about a possible claim. They have recorded this as a claim and say it cannot be deleted. (Rubbish). It's like talking to the speaking clock.

We have had our motorhome insured with Saga for 10 years now and in that time we have made 3 claims.
(2 no fault and 1 where l reversed into a wall and smashed bike rack and cracked back panel).
All 3 claims were dealt with quickly and efficiently with minimum inconvenience to us also we did not loose our NCD and premiums did not increase.
Ok l have to phone them and haggle a bit on renewal but always end up happy with the price.
We also have Saga breakdown cover,only used them once when we had a puncture in Spain,
Had to wait a whole 17 minutes for man to come to change the wheel.
I know l can always get cheaper insurance but when l'm thousands of miles from home l like to sleep at night knowing I'm covered by a tried, tested and trusted insurance company :sleep:
