We bought our first motor home (Carthago) from Go European unseen. Initial impression of the Sales site when we went to collect it was OK - lots of new and second hand motor homes squeezed into a small site, but with loads of parking available in the adjacent garden centre car park.

Handover was thorough and all our questions were answered. There was a small dent in the rear valence they offered to repair or compensate for - no question or argument. I was quite pleasantly surprised by that.

I needed some warranty work done (Pioneer Satnav stopped working). This was arranged with Lewis the Service Manager efficiently and with good planning.

I had the first annual habitation service done in 2019, an inverter fitted and various minor things done. I live in Somerset so it's a long trip up to their workshop. I have always had the use of a vehicle and if any work has taken more than a day, Lewis has ferried me to and from the railway station.

Whenever I've wanted technical questions answered, they have either responded quickly with full and competent answers or asked the factory for a response.

The sales and service centres are being brought together in 2020 at a purpose built new site, so any issues with parking at the old service centre should be resolved.

Although there is a Carthago dealer quite close to me (who couldn't do a good enough deal when I bought my motor home) I will keep going back to Go European, a 240 mile round trip, because I have always had good quality and value service from them.

We bought our Carthago from GMC very happy with the sales side we got a very good deal the handover was not so good they scuffed the paintwork on the back of the van and it had a stone chip on the front they did repair these.

Aftersales very poor they don't reply to emails or phone calls and when you turn up at the workshop its pot luck trying to find somewhere to park.

We gave up trying to get the warranty work done , Im not even sure they odered the parts we needed ended up switching to another Carthago dealer.

Bought used Hymer from them October 2018. Good price for our trade-in. Very pleased with handover, all staff very friendly and helpful. After sales has been excellent, fridge required new mains element and cooling unit. Efficient service with good communications and once again very friendly staff.

We purchased from them at the Malvern show, got a good deal on our trade in, more than happy.

Sales people were not pushy.

Had to travel to Staffs from Norwich so a bit of a hike, but all ready when we arrived for the handover, which was very good.

They also contacted our local AT dealer and paved the way for any warranty work to be done locally

Can’t fault them.

Bought a Carthago from them and was pleasantly surprised with their approach to customers. Used aftersales for a couple of little niggles and these were sorted promptly and efficiently.

We’ve bought a used Carthago from Go European last month and so far have been very happy.

We visited the sales site three times before purchase and while it’s not an all undercover site like some, we found the experience good. We weren’t hassled or pressured, and we were left alone to pore over the well-presented vehicles.

We were happy with the trade-in offered on our old van, and the organisation of the sale was fine. Handover was good. A few teething problems (missing bits, etc) were sorted efficiently and without quibble, even after we’d left the area. (We do live a long way away, but there’s not many Carthago dealers around.)

We went to the service workshop the day after collection, staff there were very approachable and keen to help, sorting issues effectively. Service charges are high, but this is clear on the company website.

Obviously, it’s early days yet - but based on experience so far I’d have to say I’m impressed. (If that changes in the future, I’ll be back!). They’re not perfect, but do seem committed to solving problems.

Just been for second hab service/damp check, 9.00 on a Monday morning. First impressions, dustbin overflowing with empty coffee cups, coffee machine looking grubby (which is shared with the technicians). Waiting area is in office with the staff, no proper separate area for customers. Had the use of a car while the work was being done, a Citroen Berlingo, which just about got us to Litchfield and back.
On return the work was completed, along with a door blind being replaced under warranty. We were presented with a bill for £364 which I queried for 4 hours work. I was told this was the standard Carthago charge for the Hab/damp check!! I asked to see the check sheet for the work done, which hadn't been completed correctly. THe technician assured us the work had been done and he forgot to fill in the sheet!
Very disappointed.
