Looking at going around this area for the whole of October. Any recommendations for sites and places to visit.
Thanks

We love Roses

Camping Rodas is our favourite site, there’s a nice aire literally across the road and Camping Salata about 100mtrs up towards the beach. Been on Salata and in the bar/restaurant but never stayed there

Check opening times but the aire is 365

There’s another site nearer towards the town centre, Jonquera or something like that which we rode around on our bikes but not for us, looking like lots of untidy long termers making it look a bit untidy.

Roses itself though we really like 👍

We stayed in Salata for two weeks last October. We would happily stay again though a lot of pitches were shaded.
I would book up though as it was full when we were there and lots were being turned away at reception. They took ACSI when we were there.

I know the weather is changeable, what was the weather like there in October and was it busy.

Salata is great and on acsi cheaper than the aire next door ,however it will be cold especially in the evening.Le Jonquer is the border town full of 100's of lorries and ladies !

Not Rose's..., but we have regularly visited L'Estartit just down the coast.

Camping Les Medes is the only site that stays open over the winter. It's an ACSI site attracting the top rate but has a nice bar, cafe, shop and heated indoor pool. About 1km out of the town so a bike is a bonus. Lidl nearby and well priced filling station opposite.
Nice cycling area and nice beach and town (town doesn't stop completely for winter but does slow down)

Camping area Costa Brava is in the centre of town. Cheaper than the campsite but without the facilities although does have toilets, showers laundrette etc. Bit tighter together pitches and doesn't drain well when it rains.

Think we had one night of rain. Shorts & T shirts weather when we were there.
Roses wasnt that busy, but the site & aire next door looked full.

We visited Estartit in April and were pleasantly surprised by the town and area.

7.2m A class
I asked in case you had a panel van
2 yrs ago when we had a panel van we drove through the main part of roses along the coast rd to a bay that was about 5 minutes from the main town stayed in a car park at night paid 5 euros to a local who runs it and in the Morning about 6.45 drove 50m to the sea front parking on the rd with instant access to the beautiful bay and beach playa canyelles
It was so nice we did this for 6 days

stayed at salata a couple of times went in may this year but full tried the one up the road but full as well so ended up on the autocaravaners next door ok for 2 nights but won't stay there again if you get on salata check the size of pitch as some are a bit on the small side but we love roses great place there is a great restaurant called las Palmers I think great food good menu of the day choice.

Another vote for camping Salata, close to the town/beach and probably the best campsite showers we’ve ever experienced
If you like lovely showers then try Rodas, immaculate 👍

Done Salata a few times but much prefer Camping Rodas. Decent pitches, pool and restaurant. Check out the hotel evening meals.. October is always nice apart from the odd day. If the weather is bad jump the bus to Figueras and do the Dahli museum. Although I sometimes better to book.

You're thinking of Camping Joncar Mar, I think. Stayed at Camping Rodas last year but in May. For those who like a freebie, Avinguda del Clot dels Franquets Nord which is immediately south of Camping Rodas might be worth a try. Quite a few park along there.

We spent 2 nights at Parking Vayreda in Girona. It has all the facilities needed and it's only a 15 minute walk from Girona old town centre.
Make sure your sat nav has been updated though, as when we got there they had changed the approach road system and it took us 15 minutes to find the entrance. We didn't have any problem with the access barrier, but a few motorhomes couldn't get out one morning and had to await a technician to "reboot" the system.

Roses is very pleasant. Definitely don’t stay at Joncamar, it’s awful. Extremely tight spaces, vans packed like sardines and very untidy. Stayed one night and left.

100% agree regards Joncadoodar

Camping Salata is the best. Excellent site 3 minutes to promenade. Been about 5/6 times since 2017. Going again November. On acsi but their deals on 7 or more are cheaper. You can also supplement acsi rate to get bigger serviced pitch for a few euros.
Agree about Camping Jonquera awful packed into tiny pitches. Avoid. Commercial aire next to Salata is ok bit too busy/packed at times. Pay the extra for Salata.
camping Rodas is good fallback but slightly further from prom etc.
Roses itself is wonderful. Walk along the prom past bars / restaurants. Dont miss the old town aong past the citadel for little lanes and more nice restaurants. Beach is also beautiful
