A free cave to go and see with a shrine to Rosalene within the cave.
What interested me was the hole in the cave roof.
We parked on the roadside car park and noted all the archers with expensive attack bows as we knew there was like an archery battleground over the road with lifesize animals to shoot at. Info for any toxophilists
I suppose it is possible to drive up the steep chalky path but the circular pathway negates any benefit so advice is to walk up the chalky "road" passing the beehives on the left and get to the still intact Austrian version of Sycamore Gap. No idea if it is a Sycamore or not but it is huge. Above that is a church worth 3 minutes of your time then follow the signs.
You pass over the top of grotto hole and look down into it (safely) then descend some steps and follow to the right for steps up to and into the cave where the hole is visible from below. The shrine is there and a mountain spring. It is then a fairly level walk back across the vista rich meadow to your vehicle. Bar/restaurant 300 m. Patches of non tarmac on way up but not off putting
