One of several in the area, this one is next to the football pitch and is a short walk into a pretty town. It was quiet on a Monday night but the pub/restaurant had few people in and the prices were very reasonable.

Very posh service point, a German van was using it so works, not sure how much it costs. You do have the ability to empty but not rinse the cassette but the toilet on site is free and clean.
We found 5 in that area all very close to the beach through the "all the Brittany aires" pamphlet from the tourist office.
Something, probably weather on the coast, that stopped us exploring them. One of them was on plage de Tahiti which sounded good. I have them on my personal map

Labastide d’Armagnac just on right as you enter village - a little muddy after all the rain last few days but no problems getting in our out. Very peaceful. Beautiful bastide village just across road and up short hill. Boulangerie was shut (Sept). View attachment 1122309View attachment 1122310View attachment 1122311
Just a heads up this site can flood, there used to be a photo at the services showing a van with water over the wheels. There's a large car park at the opposite side of the village near the bakery if the aire is to wet.

Only just saying to Mrs Greenway we haven’t seen many English vans, then this pops up. We were there Sunday night. Services were 3€ for 10 minutes water, not sure about electricity.

It's France, I think most signs are advisory at best
Except the one at Caumant sur gironde as the bridge is too small for anything much over even uncle Lenny HB struggled but he is 4t😀

Camping cars are all 3.5t in France and i always think it's aimed at trucks.

All the English vans are currently at Roscoff waiting for the ferry tomorrow morning, I've never seen so many! 🤣

We would have liked to spend a bit more time in southern Brittany, Nevez definitely looked like somewhere to explore a lot more. We only ended up there as Pont Aven had a CCP or the free aire you needed 3 foot high chocks!

Talking of CCPs is it wrong to park outside one and go and fill up two 5l water bottles? 🤔😁

When in France ........

It's not something I have done ... Yet. Cemeteries are my desperation destination but we really haven't struggled at all in Brittany. (We carry 25 litres drinking water).
The French residents encouraged us to go to the cemetery at Savoillan to take their water. "It's free and it comes out the springs"

We stayed in a nice little place last year right on the Loire in La Ménitré. Just a car park with a toilet, but there's a restaurant next door and also a pop-up bar (weather permitting). Car park got pretty busy during the late afternoon/evening, but was very quiet overnight.

Another one we've been to a few times.....Distillerie des Trois Moulins, here just outside Cognac. Technically its a France Passion, but they never seem to ask, and I think if you buy something they don't care. Very reasonably-priced Pineau de Charentes and decent vin de pays too (their Cognac is probably pretty good too, but its not something either of us like). Nice parking area next to the river Charente. Its a bit uneven in places, but although its right next to the road its pretty quiet overnight.

About a 15 mins bike ride away there's a nice little bar/restaurant (cash only) and a boulangerie - not tried it, but seemed popular with the locals. There's also a service point just over the road too at the entrance to a campsite.

Yesterday we drove over the Col du Telegraph and Col de Galibier. At the top of the Telegraph, opposite the café there's a lane off the layby which goes to day/night motorhome parking. Just behind where I'm parked in the pic.
Also one at the south end of Valloire.

I noticed that DKB is contemplating a 2026 trip including Sardinia and thought that I should add the only free overnight parking which we found during a short lap of Northern Sardinia in May 2023. It’s in the picturesque town of Bosa on the west coast of the island - right on the edge of the town and at the beach. We parked all day and overnight. No facilities.

First one from our first trip - may have more to add later but felt this one worthy of a post - Morella in Spain, 25 pitches overlooking the beautiful castle and surrounding village , free with services (no ehu)

Lovely views nice old town and some really good walks, but very exposed and can get very cold in winter.
When we were there last March it looked like they were installing pay barriers.

You are correct, the large camper/car park is now just for cars, the CCP site is just beyond the carpark now, space is tight, and it's only worth staying at if you want to visit the village (which we did), this was our second visit, and we weren't impressed with the CCP site (a first for us).
The CCP is ok. Montresor definitely worth a visit and lunch at L'Ecole Gourmand restaurant recommended.

I never took any notice of the 3.5t signs this summer and somehow forgot to stick on my Angela Morty stickers. Silly me.
