Pics please we need to know what we are looking forJust heard from our son (custodian of the 'van) that our Autocruise Quartet, reg VX62CEA, has gone missing from his address in North Acton. If any of you come across this rarity for sale, please let us and plod know...
Would do, but unfortunately I'm on the wrong side of the world at the moment...oh crikey, hope they didn't get too much of a head start, plenty of cameras around so fingers crossed you'll get it back..
have a good search around the area as often it'll be nearby so i understand until the inital hooha wears off..
Trust the insurance don't come up with any excuses.?Van has gone missing from his address in North Acton.
Should be OK. Our son's the registered keeper & policyholder, with us as named drivers, insured to be kept at that address. BTW if any other Funsters out there need expat insurance in the UK, we found ours through Keith Michaels in Surrey. Will post feedback on claims process. Proof of the pudding and all that...Trust the insurance don't come up with any excuses.?![]()
All but the tracker... Quiet suburban street during the day.Alarm ?
Immobiliser ?
Tracker ?
Steering or clutch lock?
As a London based motorhome owner I usually have all 4 activated most of the time (plus basic locks of course).
Certainly if left overnight unattended anywhere, it would have all 4 .
Even on a campsite if I lock it, then I also alarm it.
Obviously nothing is going to keep the professional thief out, but you want to do everything you can to encourage them to target another van as it appears to be easier.r
My van lives in view on my driveway when we are at home.
So this is my latest purchase..

Ta. Mine is on the rear, and pretty awkward to accessFriends of mine had a wheel clamp on the front and a steering lock and the MoHo was still nicked, the thieves used a tow truck, lifted it up at the front popped the side window released the handbrake and drove off.
One distinguising (posible) feature between another van would be the awning on the roof going about 300mm past the opening of the side doorDon't recognise the old git with the pipe-cleaner legs, though...

A couple of other distinguishing features as well, but not going to mention them here...One distinguising (posible) feature between another van would be the awning on the roof going about 300mm past the opening of the side door
So many on the road fall short
Wheel clamps always better fitted on rear. Stops lifting the front to tow.Ta. Mine is on the rear, and pretty awkward to access
I also have other measures and never rely on just one.
