Well two years on and we went back for itv, things have changed since our last visit, this time they plug something into the ODB port 2017 ducato ๐Ÿค” have they cloned our motorhome ๐Ÿ™„ never had that before. ๐Ÿ™‚
Then everything was OK until the end, having read various things about extras added and not being on the log book, well the only thing on ours was the towbar, as soon as we saw the man with the ladder we thought here we go ! ๐Ÿ˜„
He had a look obviously our workman ship was good, he took photos of the solar panels awning step and it was added to the log book at a cost of โ‚ฌ11.53 ๐Ÿ˜Ž he never looked in the gas locker we have a refillable bottle I fitted and we have never had a gas check in the past 5 years ๐Ÿค”.

But ................ it's looking like refillable bottles may be a problem soon in Spain, apparently Repsol are refusing people filling them. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Bob

Hi.
7/8 yrs ago, went to fill at the BP garage with LPG/GPL just outside of Mortaqua,( UK Plates ) one of the staff came out and said something... No offence meant but,all i could tell was she was cross. I pointed to the adapter going into the side of the bodywork, she came and had a look an it was OK ( Gas pump long since gone there ). 3/4 yrs ago in Santa Comba Dao,a new filling station with LPG/GPL opened,in i went.( Porty Plates )... Chap came out shouting and it was clear by his body language and face,i was not getting refilled... Most other places i have filled have been OK and one service station just Off the A17 junc. with the 234. has a line of adaptors on top of the pump, that i truly believe he could/WOULD serve UFO's :ROFLMAO: .
Hoping that the Santa Comba Dao service station is now under New management ( 3/4 yrs ? ) and being on Porty plates,i am going to sneak in and try again.
Tea Bag.
PS.If you are in the area of the A17/234 Portugal junction, its not to far off route to nip off and back on again and plenty of roomy turn around places if younget it wrong first time.

I thought it had always been illegal in Spain for habitation use but I've never been refused, even had attendants come out and help.
Only places I've been refused is Portugal & Italy.

I have yet to encounter a problem. But I usually top up wherever I can. Just. in-case.

Most of the time, I leave with full bottles and on return, support our local LPG independent dealers by filling up close to home.

80p a litre.

A Petrol station I passed south of Macclesfield were charging ยฃ1.20

There are 3 in Javea, including Repsol who allow and will help if available to fill bottles.

Yes we have never had a problem in Spain, I have filled with diesel and told the attendant we also want autogas and he said fill up then come and pay for both pumps. ๐Ÿ‘
I can only think that there has been an incident at a Repsol garage and that's why they are refusing people, probably someone filling non refillable bottles. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ฅ Bob.

Not had any problems on this trip, in either Spain or Portugal, but as they say, ie, forewarned is forearmed, so thanks Bob for the heads up. (y)

Like Trev above, I tend to fill up at our local Flogas depot (ยฃ0.80ppl), on the way home, ready for the next trip away. They have discreetly given us the depot phone number, to phone ahead re availability at any time. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Is this when they're opening the door to fill or with external fillers?

It was Spanish motorhomers, and 90% of the time they have things fitted by so called professionals, it's not so easy to add things here. ๐Ÿค” Bob.

I always fill up in the UK before a trip, only fill up abroad if getting low. UK LPG in 100% propane other countries it can be up to 65% butane Spain the highest & French LPG can have high oily residues.

That doesn't answer my question... ๐Ÿคช
